We wait all year to see what Hollywood's leading ladies will wear to the Oscars, but half the fun is seeing their dates suit up in slick tuxes and suits to match. Together, each of these looks has double the style power, from Stacy Keibler and George Clooney's megawatt glamour to the Old Hollywood charm of Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied — not to mention Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's seriously sexy arrival (did you know Ange's right leg now has it's own Twitter account?). Inside, there's more of our favourite twosomes, the pairs that lit up the red carpet arm in arm. Click on to see them all.
Stars Help Kick Off Cannes at the Fancy Opening Ceremony
The Cannes Film Festival kicked off with a star-studded opening ceremony that had the red carpet full of famous faces in the French city yesterday. Salma Hayek posed in a gorgeous Gucci Première gown with her husband, François-Henri Pinault, on her arm, while model Karolina Kurkova stopped for the cameras solo in a blue dress. Uma Thurman, in a white Versace number, was accompanied by fellow judges Robert De Niro and Jude Law as they made their way up the grand staircase. Long-time couple Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas were also on hand for the start of the festivities, as was international actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. They all made their way inside the Palais des Festivals, where Uma, Jude and Robert took the stage while Woody Allen and more watched from the audience. The event was just the first of many that will take place in the next week, with expected attendees Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Johnny Depp, Penélope Cruz and Sean Penn all making their way to the luxurious South of France.
Rachel Wows on the Red Carpet on Michael's Arm at Cannes

Rachel McAdams changed into a gorgeous semi-sheer red gown for the premiere of her new Woody Allen movie during the Cannes Film Festival yesterday evening. She and boyfriend Michael Sheen were also together earlier in the day at the Midnight in Paris photo call, though they seemed to show even more PDA at the red carpet event — Michael sweetly helped with her dress as she ascended the stairs, and they huddled close while posing alongside co-stars Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody and French actress Léa Seydoux. Their film opened the huge cinema event so we've got plenty more stunning red carpet celebrity moments to look forward to, including Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Johnny Depp and more!
Cameron Focuses on Shrek After Her Knight With Tom and Oprah
Cameron Diaz went with a short red number yesterday for the LA premiere of Shrek Forever After! She was the lone female star of the movie to pose on the green carpet with Antonio Banderas, Mike Meyers and Eddie Murphy. Cameron is home in California after a busy few weeks of travel that included time in Chicago, where she recorded an episode of Oprah with Tom Cruise. They were there to discuss their film Knight and Day and she also shared her passion for cooking oatmeal for breakfast.
Cameron Diaz and Most of Her Shrek Guys Kick Off Tribeca

Maggie and Anne Celebrate With Inglourious Friends in LA
Quentin Tarantino brought his friends together at LA's La Vida restaurant last night to celebrate Inglourious Basterds' eight Academy Awards nominations. He chatted with other famous Oscars nommed faces, including Maggie Gyllenhaal, who stuck close to husband Peter Sarsgaard. Eli Roth chatted with Neve Campbell, Selma Blair and Heather Graham, while Ryan Gosling made the rounds, still looking hot after his recent trip to Sundance. Anne Hathaway brought along her beau Adam Shulman, as she took a break from promoting Valentine's Day.
Anne's on the cover of next month's US InStyle to chat about her star-studded movie, though she took a minute to reflect on herself and her looks. She said, "I think I’ve got really weird features. I have very large features on a very small head. But, you know, I’m not going to beat myself up . . . I look like myself and I think at the end of the day, as nice as pretty is, authenticity is more important." Her looks seem to be doing just fine as far as Hollywood is concerned, especially after all her recognition in 2009 for Rachel Getting Married. Anne's not nominated this year, but make sure to tell us you think will win in our Oscar polls!
