Michael Douglas Hits Cannes With "Not So Bad" Kisser Matt Damon

Matt Damon joined up with his Behind the Candelabra co-star Michael Douglas to premiere their new film at the Cannes Film Festival yesterday. The two actors are screening their HBO project in the South of France before it officially hits the small screen in the US on Sunday, May 26. Earlier in the day, Matt and Michael attended a photo call and a press conference. They have been doing quite a bit of press for the biopic, which follows Liberace, played by Michael, and his young lover, played by Matt. Naturally, a story about a couple had to involve love scenes, and Michael revealed in a recent interview he wasn't exactly put off by the idea of kissing one of America's best-looking actors. He said, "As far as making out with Matt, it’s not so bad. We rehearsed the scenes. For me, I guess the biggest thrill is, when I first saw it, after a few minutes, I really forget it’s Matt. Matt and Mike, you know? I just forget it’s us."

Matt is in Cannes after wrapping up filming for his upcoming film with George Clooney, The Monuments Men, in Germany. The pair celebrated finishing the film by having a boys weekend at George's Lake Como estate earlier this month.

Channing, Rooney, and Jude Team Up For Their Side Effects Premiere

Rooney Mara was joined by her co-stars Channing Tatum, Jude Law, and Catherine Zeta-Jones for the New York premiere of Side Effects last night. She wore a white Alexander McQueen dress and Nicholas Kirkwood pumps while Catherine donned a black lace Michael Kors frock. Catherine's husband, Michael Douglas, walked her down the red carpet, which included visits from some of New York's fashion elite, like Donna Karan and Rachel Roy.

Kate Mara joined her sister, Rooney, at the event after Rooney attended Kate's House of Cards premiere on Thursday. It's been a busy week for the duo, who have both been doing press for their two new releases. Rooney attended a Side Effects Q&A with director Steven Soderbergh and Jude in the Big Apple earlier this week and Kate made the party rounds for her new series in DC and NYC.

Matt Damon and Michael Douglas Talk Liberace at the Winter TCA

Matt Damon and Michael Douglas took the stage at the HBO Winter 2013 TCA Panel yesterday in Pasadena. Michael and Matt, who co-star in HBO's upcoming Behind the Candelabra, were at the Langham Hotel with producer Jerry Weintraub and director Steven Soderbergh to chat up their Liberace bio-pic. The TV film is based on the story of Liberace, portrayed by Michael, and his five year relationship with the much younger Scott Thorson, played by Matt. The gang spoke about the project yesterday at the TCA, and about their struggles to make the project as accurate as possible because it was based on the stories of real people.

Matt said about the Liberace film, "There are aspects of their relationship that were absurd, but for me it just kind of pointed out that there are aspects of all of our lives that are absurd . . . What it felt like was if this was a relationship between a man and a woman, you’d feel moments like, 'This is too intimate, maybe I shouldn’t be here.' But it’s between a man and a man and I’ve never seen that movie before. So it was fun, but we weren’t giggling about it. We took it very seriously. These are people’s lives and we wanted to get it right."

Ben, Matt and George Hit the NYC Premiere of Argo!

Ben Affleck had his best buds Matt Damon and George Clooney for support at yesterday's NYC premiere of Argo, which is out on Oct. 25. The trio made the rounds at the debut, held at the Time Warner Screening Room, and then moved the fun times on to the Porter House restaurant. They had the company of other friends like Michael Douglas, Oliver Stone and Ted Koppel. The screening also brought out celebs curious to see Ben's latest like Kate Upton, Sting and Richard Gere. Ben and George, along with George's long-time work partner Grant Heslov, actually produced the picture together, and they were able to toast the finished project along with the film's stars Bryan Cranston, Tate Donovan and Scoot McNairy.

Dakota, Catherine and More Stars Kick off Tribeca With Vanity Fair

Stars like Dakota Fanning, Leelee Sobieski and Catherine Zeta-Jones gathered Tuesday night to celebrate the start of the Tribeca Film Festival at Vanity Fair's kickoff party. The bash was held at NYC's State Supreme Courthouse and many of the celebs posed for pictures outside before heading in to start the fun with editor in chief Graydon Carter. Leelee, who arrived with her designer husband Adam Kimmel, wore a white gown from Jil Sander. Dakota, one of the festival's judges this year, was pretty in a pink Lanvin. Catherine broke from working on The Bitter Pill to throw on a silver Michael Kors number and let loose alongside husband Michael Douglas. Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner also popped by to say hello during a date night, when their daughter Arabella stayed home.

Jennifer joked, "[Robert] never let his career get in the way of his commitment to hard-core, classic Grade A drugs." Justin Theroux, who dined next to Jen at the event, also shares a connection to Robert, having penned the scripts for Tropic Thunder and Iron Man 2. Robert stopped by Jen and Justin's table to pose for a photo, but RDJ also stuck beside his wife and mum-to-be, Susan Downey. It's been an exciting week for Robert.
