First there was Dave the Macquarie banker who was busted looking at photos of Miranda Kerr live on air and now Today Show weatherman Steve Jacobs is the latest YouTube sensation. He was at Taronga Zoo doing a live weather cross a couple of weeks ago when a frisky pelican pecked his bottom. The footage of him giggling, shrieking and cowering in the corner of the bird enclosure has gone viral. It made the morning shows in the US and even scored him a round of interviews Stateside. And we love anchor Karl Stefanovic in the background repeatedly saying, “You love it” and adding, “It’s not the first time he’s been pinched in the butt by a bird.”
There’s a new interview with Miranda Kerr in the latest Hello! magazine where she opens up about the engagement rumours surrounding her and boyfriend Orlando Bloom. The 26 year-old posed for photos with her family at their house in Australia and there’s apparently a really cute picture of her in bed between her mum and grandmother. Awww. I’m trying to get my hands on the photos, but in the meantime, here’s what she had to say:
On spending Valentine’s Day away from Orlando: I was in Australia and he was in Los Angeles shooting The Good Doctor, which he is starring in and producing. That’s really exciting for him. It’s a little bit sad I suppose, but we really believe it’s important to celebrate your relationship every day, not just on Valentine’s Day.”
On what qualities she loves about him: I think Orlando is an incredible man and he’s a very genuine and authentic individual. I’m grateful that he’s in my life.”
On rumours that they’re engaged: No, we’re not engaged. You can’t always believe everything you read!
On wearing a ring on her engagement finger last May: We were in Cannes at the film festival and it was so hot that my fingers were swelling. I was wearing it on that finger because that’s the only one it would fit on. It was totally an innocent thing.”
It’s no secret that I have a bit of a girl crush on Miranda Kerr. Not only is she gorgeous on the outside, she cares just as much about being beautiful on the inside. She’s currently back in Australia strutting her stuff on the catwalk and launching her skincare range, Kora, and she’ll no doubt meet up with her personal yoga guru while she’s here. Charlotte Dodson has been Miranda’s personal yoga teacher for years. She appeared on The Morning Show yesterday to talk about how Miranda keeps fit. And if you REALLY want to roll like Miranda, Charlotte will be teaching at a weekend-long wellbeing retreat in the Blue Mountains next month called Your Organic Experience. The event also features interactive organic cooking classes with Annalise Braakensiek, Shiatsu massage, aromatherapy and skin care workshops, hiking, music and organic food and champers! But in the meantime, see what Charlotte has to say and find out about Miranda’s favourite position (get your mind out of the gutter. Please! This is about being zen...)
There's nothing we love more than a good ol' celebrity couple. Scratch that, there is something we love more—choosing our favourite celebrity couple. On Valentine's Day, no less. So tell us: on this day of chocolate, roses and endless hearts, which loved-up duo gets your nod?
It was another day at the office for Miranda Kerr yesterday as she hit the catwalk for the David Jones Autumn/Winter 2010 launch at Hordern Pavilion. Celebs in the crowd included Megan Gale, Jodhi Meares and the Ksubi boys and Sass and Bide girls. (Sorry, no Orlando!) Check out Fab to find out about all the trends you’ll be wearing next season!
