Taylor Swift and Alicia Keys brought US starpower to the red carpet at the NRJ Music Awards today in Cannes. Both arrived in France recently to attend the awards, which also attracted musical acts like Psy and One Direction. Things might get awkward for Taylor Swift, since she may run-into her ex, Harry Styles. He and his 1D bandmates Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, and Louis Tomlinson hit the carpet as well. Both Taylor and Alicia had stunning — though different — looks before the show began. Alicia wore a cut-out Michael Kors gown, with husband Swizz Beatz on her arm, and apparently got a great reception. She tweeted, "France, I can feel the love!". Taylor, meanwhile, donned a pale gold sequined mini.
Two of the world’s biggest music acts, One Direction and Taylor Swift, walked the red carpet at yesterday’s BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards at the Wembley Arena in London. It was a big day for One Direction, with the boys — Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Harry Styles — picking up three honours for best single, best album and best music act. Taylor looked sweet in a cream dress and posed with fans on her way into the event, but didn’t go home with an award. It was confirmed over the weekend that Taylor will be performing at the 2012 ARIA Awards in Sydney on Nov. 29, bringing some international star power to Australian music’s night of nights. Other stars who joined in the fun at the BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards were Little Mix, Fun, Conor Maynard and Ne-Yo.
One Direction are among the huge number of British musical acts who performed at the London Olympics closing ceremony today. Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Harry Styles and Liam Payne, dressed in a mix of shirts, suits and sneakers, belted out their hit single “What Makes You Beautiful,” following performances by Madness and the Pet Shop Boys. There is plenty more to come from the closing ceremony, including the much-anticipated reunion from the Spice Girls! Stay tuned for more.
We know they're (outrageously) cute and sure, they can hold a tune, but have you ever stopped to notice their style? The One Direction boys nail the boy band look, but in a very classic and no-fuss way. It's all about staples — clean white shirts, chinos, spotless sneakers, knits and complimentary accessories. Except of course, when they are frolicking in Sydney Harbour — that's a serious case of less-is-more! After appreciating their red carpet style at Sunday night's Logie Awards, we thought the Brit-sters deserved a wee style stalk. Those screaming teenage girls may be on to something here. . .
If you didn’t stay up until 12:15 a.m. this morning, you may have missed One Direction’s second Logies performance. The UK boy band kicked off proceedings with a red carpet performance of “What Makes You Beautiful,” and popped up again during the show to present the most popular new female talent award to Winners and Losers’ Melissa Bergland. (When Liam Payne said they didn’t know anyone in Australia, Harry Styles cheekily said, “We thought, what better way for us to meet people we would get on with than by presenting the most popular female talent award.”) Liam, Harry, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson also closed the show with an energetic performance of “One Thing,” but the delayed telecast meant people watching at home only saw it after midnight. One of the highlights was seeing lots of Aussie stars on their feet, singing and dancing to the boys, whether it was for real or for fun. Watch the video to see people like Josh Thomas, Amanda Keller, Lisa Wilkinson and heaps of Home and Away stars bopping to One Direction.
Channel Nine’s Logies coverage kicked off with a performance from One Direction tonight. The super popular British/Irish boy band sang their hit single “What Makes You Beautiful” in front of a very excited crowd — some fans had waited for hours to see the band perform. Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik are set to perform again in front of the Aussie TV stars inside the Crown Palladium in Melbourne. For now, watch them sing “What Makes You Beautiful” — and try not to get blinded by all the flashing lights!
They've managed to make countless teenage girls scream (and cry) and pretty much overshadowed Zac Efron and Rihanna being in Australia so it's time to talk One Direction. In particular, their hair. Because between them, they have a lot of it. First up there's Niall Horan, the only blonde in the band. This lovable Irish lad always opts for matte, natural-looking texture. Then there's Liam Payne. Believe it or not, Liam's had quite the drastic haircut since the band's "What Makes You Beautiful" video and now favours a man-fringe and short(er) back and sides. Next up is ladies man Harry Styles, who is as famous for his flirting as he is for fixing his long locks through interviews. Then we've got Zayn Malik who likes his sides short and closely-shaved but his tips straight and worn high. Rounding out the group is Louis Tomlinson who is hot on Harry's heels in terms of side-swept, textured 'dos. So who do you think has the best haircut?

Because a single picture of One Direction is never enough, right?! The Brit-Irish band played their first two Australian shows at Sydney's Hordern Pavilion on April 13 to thousands of screaming fans. With the decible level from the crowd matching that of the noise coming from the stage, it's safe to say the boys impressed... click through to see them onstage.
