Paul Rudd hosted Saturday Night Live this weekend, and he brought along the cast of Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues for a little sing-off against musical guests One Direction. It was an intense rendition of "Afternoon Delight," as Rudd, Will Ferrell, Steve Carell and David Koechner harmonised with Harry, Zayn, Louis, Niall and Liam. Who won? Um, we did. Check it out.
The 2013 American Music Awards took over the Nokia Theater in LA today, and there were plenty of must-see moments! Host Pitbull kicked off the night by giving audience members a lesson in booty-shaking dance moves with the help of a group of female dancers. Justin Timberlake took home the first award of the night for favourite pop/rock male artist, and he celebrated by running through the audience to dole out high-fives. He later grabbed two more honours. Meanwhile, Katy Perry channelled her inner geisha for a Japan-inspired performance of "Unconditionally" while the boys from One Direction got serious for their soulful new song "Story of My Life." Miley Cyrus confused some by singing "Wrecking Ball" accompanied by a digital cat, and Rihanna picked up a big honour, the icon award, from her mum. So much more went down, including Lady Gaga and R. Kelly's political performance and Taylor Swift's big artist of the year win — click through to see all the action!
One Direction had all the young girls screaming when they arrived at the 2013 American Music Awards in LA today. The group is nominated for both favourite pop/rock album for Take Me Home and favourite pop/rock band/duo/group. The boy band took to the stage to perform "Story of My Life," and they are one of a number of pop acts that are performing at the award show. Other performers include Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Macklemore and Luke Bryan.
One Direction has had a busy week in LA as they have been working tirelessly to promote their new album, Midnight Memories. However, the week hasn't been only about work as Harry Styles was spotted going on a dinner date with Kendall Jenner, aka Kim Kardashian's half-sister, who is also at the AMAs.
Keen to catch up on our working week? Let's get right into it! Our celebrity and entertainment editor Jess interviewed the lovely ladies from Little Mix while they were on a whirlwhind trip to Sydney — meanwhile, associate editor Gen took in a One Direction concert (and is still a little short of hearing). The entire office swooned over pictures of little Prince George at his christening — his mum Kate very nearly stole the show — and fashion editor Jasmine got a sneak peek at some pretty new pieces you'll want to add to your wardrobe as soon as they hit stores across the country. Throw in a Lorde concert, getting to make bespoke boardshorts and a sunny day by the sea, and you've got a week at POPSUGAR! Liam Payne showed off his surfing skills when he hit the waves on the Gold Coast on Sunday. The One Direction crooner has been taking advantage of his band's tour time down under by brushing up on his water sports. Earlier this month, Liam and Louis Tomlinson went surfing together in Sydney, but Liam had an unfortunate fan encounter following his surfing stint. As the singer tells it, a young woman broke into his hotel room and stole his underpants, which were drying on a balcony after getting soaked at the beach. Luckily for Liam, it didn't appear that there were any underwear thefts after surfing this time around.
Liam isn't the only One Direction star who has been taking advantage of our Spring weather — Harry Styles went shirtless during a trip to the beach in Gold Coast on Saturday.
Harry Styles spent time sans shirt while relaxing on the Gold Coast on Saturday. He took advantage of the beautiful weather by playing beach volleyball, and later went for a swim to cool off after the game. While in the water, Harry was cautious not to get his new tattoo wet — the One Direction singer took to Twitter earlier this week to debut some new ink, a black and white skull, on his left tricep.
Harry and his One Direction bandmates are in currently in Australia on their sold out "Take Me Home" world tour. The boys have been here for most of the month, but are making sure to have fun between performances. Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson celebrated their recent downtime by catching some waves at Whale Beach, Sydney, but the adventure ended in a bit of embarrassment went a fan stole a pair of Liam's boxers from his hotel balcony. Click through to see pictures of Harry having fun in the sun — sans T-shirt.
There are more than a few celebrities we can rely on for a good laugh — and Hamish Blake certainly hasn't let us down this time around! The radio funnyman kept us entertained on more than one occasion this week, first with his Justice Crew quip, and secondly when 50 Cent (yes, the 50 Cent) singled him out on social media. Why? You'll have to click through to find out! Luckily, Hamish's mate Andy was there to back his buddy up. Also needing a bit of support? The poor female celebrity who got mistaken for a man, One Direction's Liam, who had his underpants stolen while in Sydney, and Ke$ha, who had some bad news to share with her Australian fans. There's much more inside — come along!

What a week! We've been busy as ever here at POPSUGAR, with multiple events brightening our days and bringing Summer to us. Our celebrity and entertainent editor Jess mingled with singers Ricki-Lee Coulter and Emma Birdsall at a Spotify event that delighted literally all of our senses, while fashion editor Jasmine frocked up to celebrate a new concept store and then started a delicious juice cleanse. How's she doing? We'll tell you in here! Meanwhile, our health and beauty journalist Steph lived up to her title, hitting the pool to do some laps on a scorching day — and hanging with Stephanie Rice and Michelle Bridges at a couple of events. And who are those mega-famous celebs we spotted surfing? It's all in here!
The One Direction boys are currently in the country on the Australian leg of their Take Me Home Tour, which has seen them play across the UK, Europe and all over the US for most of the year. Given that we’re still experiencing One Direction fever, hundreds of thousands of fans were more than happy to welcome Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Zayn Malik back to the country for their sold-out stadium tour, which kicked off in Adelaide on Sept. 23. They performed their first Sydney show at Allphones Arena on Saturday, Oct. 5, and I was there to experience 1D excitement in all its glory. Here’s my take on One Direction in concert.
More than 20,000 fans, mostly girls, packed out Allphones Arena in Sydney’s Olympic Park. In terms of dress code, lots were decked out in One Direction-themed outfits, though some looked like they were going clubbing, and others went for a music festival vibe. Inside the arena, posters were aplenty, glow sticks abounded, and yes, the screams were deafening.
Australian band 5 Seconds of Summer were One Direction’s supporting act, and there was definitely a lot of love for the four boys from the female-strong crowd. When they’d finished their set, the house lights came back on as music designed to get the fans pumped played loudly through the arena, such as Reel 2 Real’s “I Like to Move It,” which had enough of a beat to get an improvised Macarena happening; later on the real “Macarena” played.
There were also two big screens that flanked the stage, and every time anything One Direction-related came on, girls screamed. It didn’t even need to show their faces, like in the commercial for their fragrance — even the words ‘One Direction’ were enough to elicit squeals. A few music videos were also played, including the clip for Little Mix’s “Wings” — it may have served as a reminder to Zayn fans that he was engaged to the group’s blonde member Perrie Edwards.
The boys were meant to come onstage at around 8:15-8:30 p.m., and at around 8:45 p.m. the lights went black and everyone screamed. Alas, it was a false alarm, and the boys only made their entrance around the 9 p.m. mark.
