Hollywood was rocked this week by problems in the marriages of the last two best actress Oscar winners. Kate Winslet announced her split from Sam Mendes after seven years of marriage on Tuesday. While, Wednesday brought the news that Sandra Bullock's husband Jesse James allegedly carried on an 11-month affair with a heavily tattooed model named Michelle "Bombshell" McGee. So tell us which splitsville story surprised you more—Kate and Sam's or Sandra and Jesse's?
Lately, we've seen plenty of Angelina Jolie in costume and filming The Tourist, but back in the '90s she was a teenage model. We've had a look before at some of her early bikini modeling shots and a new round was just released ahead of an upcoming Hollywood photo auction. She certainly didn't mind showing a little skin at a relatively young age, so tell us—do you like seeing photos from Angelina's old modeling days?
This week's US InTouch has the shocking cover story that recent Oscar winner Sandra Bullock's husband, Jesse James, carried on a months-long affair while she was off working on The Blind Side in Austin. Tattoo model Michelle McGee claims to have met Jesse when she wanted to model for his West Coast Choppers. She told the magazine, "I asked him, 'What’s going on with you and Sandra?' He said, 'She doesn’t live here. She has a house in Austin. She is filming and I can’t talk about it.'" Sandra was so sweet in thanking him in her many awards season acceptance speeches, so it seems like this just can't be true. However, she's already apparently pulled out of an appearance in the UK due to "unforeseen circumstances." It hasn't been a good week for the marriages of best-actress winners after Kate Winslet's split announcement, leading some to believe there's an Academy Award curse. Tell us what you think of this story—are you buying it?
"I kind of want to do one [an album] at the end of the year. All my friends are recording albums and I'm very annoyed about it. But I can't do two things at once. I don't know how people like Jennifer Lopez can act and also sing. I'm just like, 'I can't.' But, hopefully, I'll find some time to get it together."
After Eclipse is released, Rob should have some time to lay down tracks. I'd love to know what you think, so vote to tell me: are you interested in Rob's music career?
Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato celebrated their young romance yesterday by attending church in LA with a friend. Demi confirmed their relationship over the weekend, telling Billy Bush that they're dating and, "he is my best friend and he is incredible." Joe's certainly had lots of experience with Hollywood starlets, as Demi's following in the footsteps of Taylor Swift and Camilla Belle. Demi and Joe were longtime friends before making things official, but tell us what you think of their latest step—do you think Joe and Demi make a good couple?
Remember Me hits theatres this weekend, which meant that Robert Pattinson fans everywhere flocked to the cinema—despite lukewarm reviews. I admit that Pattinson is enjoyable to watch even though the film isn't all that great, making me wonder how I'd feel about the movie if the role had gone to another actor. Most of Hollywood's biggest stars have had at least a few questionable career choices, but everyone has a favourite actor they'll see no matter how bad the movie looks. My own short list includes George Clooney, Paul Rudd, and Rachel McAdams. What about you—which actors have your unwavering support? Photo courtesy of Summit Entertainment
Robert Pattinson made his first post-Twilight movie debut, taking on Alice in Wonderland at the box office this weekend. We'll have to wait to see how the heartthrob fared against the likes of Depp and DiCaprio, but I'm more interested to see what happens when he's pitted against his costar (and real-life love interest) Kristen Stewart. Her movie, The Runaways, will be added to the mix in the US next week, putting the two movies head-to-head. It's a tough call; I've seen both movies and while Pattinson seems to have more die-hard fans, overall The Runaways is a better movie than Remember Me. What's your prediction?
And the gloves are off. If you thought the split between Lara Bingle and Michael Clarke might end amicably, think again. Over the weekend, things took a nasty turn when plumbers were called to the couple’s Bondi Beach pad at 3 am Saturday morning to try and retrieve Lara’s $200,000 engagement ring after she apparently flushed it down the loo. After an unsuccessful attempt to fish it out, they will be back again today to sift through the sewage pit under the luxury apartment block to see if there is anything sitting at the bottom. All together now...ewww. Meanwhile, Lara’s agent, Max Markson, claims the ring is safe and well. Who do you believe? Do you really think Lara ditched her ring down the dunny?
Lady Gaga and Beyonce Knowles' long-awaited video for "Telephone" came out yesterday, and it's filled with all the wacky costumes, interesting makeup styles and dancing we've come to expect. We've got the full length vid below, so tell us what you think of the almost 10-minute end product—bring it on or little too long?
Zoe Saldana is all over the place due to the wild success of Avatar, and her voluminous gown at Sunday's Oscars ended up being the one most searched online Monday. The designer of her dress isn't the only thing Zoe's willing to share, though; she was more than happy to talk about sex in April's Essence magazine. On the act, she said, "Love it, love it, love it—can’t live without it! I love sex. I love skin. I don’t believe the body is something to hide. I think in American society we’re messing up our kids by taking away the education on and awareness of our sexuality and replacing it with violence, guns and video games—and we’re breeding little criminals." Interesting take, but tell us what you think of Zoe's quote—sweet or TMI?
