See All the Celebrity Style from the 2013 Prix de Marie Claire Awards

Sydney's most stylish folk frocked up last night to celebrate the best in fashion and beauty at the 2013 Prix de Marie Claire Awards.

Sydney's most stylish folk frocked up last night to celebrate the best in fashion and beauty at the 2013 Prix de Marie Claire Awards. The black tie gala, hosted by editor Jackie Frank at The Star casino, was full of drama  and not just thanks to the formal dress code. A spectacular perspex runway was suspended high above guests' heads, allowing for a unique viewpoint. International designers were popular with the A-list crowd with Lara Bingle looking chic in Christian Dior, Jodi Gordon donning a fabulously frilled Gucci number and Megan Gale baring a little flesh in black Bottega Veneta. Thigh high splits were a popular choice with designers Sarah Jane Clarke and Heidi Middleton of sass & bide, Terry Biviano and Samantha Wills all showing a little leg — and special mention goes to Kylie Gillies who showed off her spectacular legs thanks to an unexpected gust of wind.

On the fashion-front, the magazine awarded Best Australian Designer to wonderkid Dion Lee, Best Australian Evening Wear Designer went to Collette Dinnigan, Jenny Kee and Linda Jackson were honoured with a Special Achievement Award, Zimmermann scooped the Best Swimwear title, newbie Christopher Esber took home the Best New Designer gong, Rachael Ruddick received the Best Australian Accessory Brand Award, the Best Australian Fashion Brand went to Oroton and sass & bide got a special mention by taking home the award for Fashion With Heart. Readers got their say too, nominating Cue and Samantha Wills for Best Australian Fashion Brand and Best Australian Accessory Brand respectively. Step this way to see the stylish people at play . . .

It's the one before the race that stops a nation but that doesn't mean that Derby Day is any less glamorous than Melbourne Cup as several A-list racegoers proved at Flemington yesterday.
Photos: Glamorous 2011 Derby Derby Beauty Looks

It's the one before the race that stops a nation but that doesn't mean that Derby Day is any less glamorous than Melbourne Cup as several A-list racegoers proved at Flemington yesterday. Jennifer Hawkins, Rachael Taylor and many more stuck to the black and white dress code, finishing their look with a variety of hats and headpieces and a red lip here and there. We loved Rachael Taylor's entire look and also Jennifer Hawkins' retro 'do.

Derby Day Dress Ups: Track-side Style Stalk!

It may have been raining (nay, pouring) on Saturday, but Flemington' s AAMI Derby Day still showed us some serious race day glamour.

It may have been raining (nay, pouring) on Saturday, but Flemington' s AAMI Derby Day still showed us some serious race day glamour. We're muchos impressed with the spot-on racewear we spied, depite the stylish set having to do battle with the elements. Looks like most race goers followed our race wear tips, and donned the traditional black and white dress code, including Sophie Monk, Mel B, Kelly Osbourne, Megan Gale and Jennifer Hawkins. Fab favourites? Methinks it's a photo finish between Rachel Finch's Nicola Finetti brocade dress and Megan Gale's jaw dropping Herve Leger number. Both lasses nailed the ladylike look, no questions about it! Question is, whose look will whet your appetite for Tuesday's Melbourne Cup? Click through the gallery to get some more track-side inspiration.

Celebrity MasterChef Semi-Final: What a Croq

The dreaded croquembouche is baaaaack (cue dramatic chipmunk clip)!

The dreaded croquembouche is baaaaack (cue dramatic chipmunk clip)! Kirk Pengilly, Eamon Sullivan, Rachael Finch and Alex Lloyd had to recreate pastry chef Adriano Zumbo’s tower of profiteroles topped with sugar butterflies. But this wasn’t your ordinary croquembouche. To make matters worse, there were chocolate profiteroles forming a swirl through the cake, as well as the usual kind filled with vanilla crème pastisserie. D’oh!

The contestants had three and a half hours to create their masterpieces. The profiterole’s were all over the shop and Alex burnt his fingers while dipping his in the hot toffee and had to leave the kitchen. His fingers were covered with bandages by end of the challenge but he decided to hang in there. Rachael continues to impress us and nailed the challenge. Eamon did a decent job and Kirk propped up his leaning tower by sticking in some extra profiteroles and didn’t have time to make his sugar butterfly, telling the judges it had “flown away.” Ha. Meanwhile, Alex’s creation was just a heap of hot mess. Predictably, Alex was sent home and the final three face off tonight for the Celebrity MasterChef title.
