Yesterday the Teen Choice Awards went down in LA. We recapped highlights from the Teen Choice Awards show with appearances from stars like Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. There were other big names on hand, too, with Chris Hemsworth, Zoe Saldana, and No Doubt all taking the stage. Stars were happy to share a look at their primping, arrivals, and fun behind the scenes. Today's Teen Choice Awards red carpet was filled with young Hollywood starlets dressed in an array of fun and refreshing looks. We narrowed it down to four in particular who caught our discerning eye: Glee girl Lea Michele stunned in a metallic Versace minidress and killer satin pumps, while Selena Gomez looked fresh and spunky in a hot-pink mini by Dsquared2 and Hervé Léger heels. Taylor Swift wore an ethereal white dress by Maria Lucia Hohan, while Nina Dobrev looked like a modern-day hottie in a dark teal dress from J. Mendel. Demi Lovato and Kevin McHale opened the Teen Choice Awards as the event's hosts today. She was treated to greetings from her fellow The X Factor judges Britney Speats and Simon Cowell, before the first presenters, Selena Gomez and Zooey Deschanel, handed off the Choice Comedian to Ellen DeGeneres. Choice Sci-fi TV series went to The Vampire Diaries, and the cast of Choice TV Drama Pretty Little Liars handed off Movie actor to The Lucky One's Zac Efron. Ian Somerhalder and an absentee Miley Cyrus took home Choice Male and Female Hottie nods, respectively. Ian sent thanks to Miley's parents, Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus, on her behalf. Other absentee honours went to The Hunger Games' Choice Male Scene Stealer Liam Hemsworth and Choice Actress in a Sci-Fi Movie Jennifer Lawrence. Emma Stone will receive two prizes for Crazy Stupid Love and The Help, Rihanna got love for Battleship, and One Direction had their boards air-mailed to London.
Birthday girl Selena Gomez, who's newly 20, won Choice Music Group for Selena Gomez & the Scene. Winning a surfboard was for Selena "the best birthday present ever," and things only got better when the crowd sang "Happy Birthday" for her. Jonah Hill made a cameo to accept a surfboard for 21 Jump Street, and Taylor Swift took the stage to accept Choice Female Artist. The Twilight gang of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner accepted the ultimate choice prize for Breaking Dawn Part 1, and Rob even passed his surfboard into the crowd! To wrap things up, Justin Bieber performed a medley of his songs from Believe. The last honour went to Choice Summer Male Movie Star Chris Hemsworth, for both Snow White and the Huntsman and The Avengers. Sigh, Zooey Deschanel does it again. Doe-eyed and looking like the ultimate darling, the New Girl star went '60s glamour on us at the Teen Choice Awards. Her rich dark brown hair had amazing height, with a thinner fringe than her usual full-fringe look. Her baby blue eyes were hard to miss with dark kohl eyeliner and short, thick eyelashes. Love it! The Teen Choice Awards are already underway in LA, with some of our favourite nominated stars walking the red carpet beforehand. Lea Michele, in Versace, was on hand for her potential wins and to support her Glee co-star Kevin McHale, who had hosting duties with Demi Lovato. Selena Gomez celebrated her 20th birthday at the event in the company of boyfriend Justin Bieber and friends Taylor Swift and Carly Rae Jepsen. Zooey Deschanel looked sweet in blue and was nominated for her role as Jess on New Girl, and Ellen DeGeneres, who attended with wife Portia, also had her protégés Sophia Grace and Rosie working the carpet in their signature pink tutus and tiaras. Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner didn’t enter via the red carpet but made a backstage appearance before accepting honours for Breaking Dawn Part 1. Country darling Taylor Swift looked sophisticated with her blonde hair pinned back and peach lips at the Teen Choice Awards. We've been seeing a more mature beauty look on the songstress for some time now, and this is just another example. Rocking beachy blonde waves and a centre part, Hayden Panettiere's eyes were the stand-out feature of her Teen Choice Awards red carpet beauty look. If you look closely enough, her makeup artist has used a hint of violet eyeshadow to set-off her hazel eyes. Hayden's eyelashes are long but thin, much like Lea Michele's, and she also wore a dusty pink nude, matte lip. What do you think?
