Robert Pattinson Wraps Up Work Down Under With a Shaved Head

Robert Pattinson wrapped up filming on The Rover in the small town of Marree, South Australia, over the weekend. He celebrated at a party with Brendon O'Brien, who is the chef at the Marree Hotel, and was later spotted wearing a plaid shirt and sporting a shaved head around town. Rob has been here working on the project with Guy Pearce since January, and the co-stars got dusty and dirty for the cameras during their time on set. While Rob is in Australia, his girlfriend, Kristen Stewart, has been busy in LA. Kristen hung out with Taylor Lautner multiple times this month including a night out at The Troubadour for a concert and an afternoon at the batting cages with friends.

The Twilight twosome have remained friends since their big-screen saga wrapped last year, and Kristen is still on author Stephenie Meyer's mind as well. While promoting her latest movie, The Host, Stephenie said that Rob and Kristen's relationship is "kind of ironic and tragic" since they weren't necessarily looking to be world famous when they signed on for the films.

Robert Pattinson Sneaks Into Australia to Start Work on The Rover

Robert Pattinson was spotted at Melbourne Airport today after arriving from LAX.

Robert Pattinson was spotted at Melbourne Airport today after arriving from LAX. The actor, who was carrying a guitar, was escorted by a staffer so he could catch his connecting flight to Adelaide, where he’ll begin work on The Rover, the new film being helmed by Animal Kingdom director David Michôd. Robert’s low-key Australian arrival — the second time he’s been here within four months since he was promoting Breaking Dawn Part 2 in October last year — comes after his handsome turn at the Golden Globes on Monday, when he presented with Amanda Seyfried. It also comes amid reports he recently split from Kristen Stewart again, but there has been no confirmation from either party.

Robert Pattinson Goes Casual For TimesTalks

Robert Pattinson flipped his hat back and smiled for photographers during a press stop in NYC today.

Robert Pattinson flipped his hat back and smiled for photographers during a press stop in NYC today. He joined Cosmopolis director David Cronenberg at The Times Center to participate in a TimesTalks session about their collaboration on the dramatic flick. During the discussion, David complimented Rob on his work, saying, "If Rob were a violin, he'd be a Stradivarius."

Earlier in the day, Rob stopped by GMA to discuss his role in the project and politely dismissed questions about his personal life and relationship with Kristen Stewart. Rob seems to be making the best of his time in the Big Apple and was spotted in high spirits while partying with friends late last night. It follows a full week of interviews for Rob on Monday he appeared on The Daily Show With Jon Stewart and on Tuesday he and David sat down with Time magazine to talk fans, fame, and his future:

  • Rob on his fans: "I guess if people think they're worried about you, it's sweet. It's kind of odd. But at the same time, the world is a pretty cruel place, so whatever inspires people to suddenly feel this kindness, hopefully they'll look at themselves and they'll look at their own lives and realise, [awestruck, Eureka-moment voice] I have the ability to . . . to empathise with people!"
  • Rob on fame: "The world would be a much better place, I think, if all these bankers and billionaires were followed by paparazzi and studied as carefully. As soon as people look at something very closely, the whole thing just crumbles."
  • Rob on his next project: "I'm going to make this movie, Mission: Blacklist, about Eric Maddox, an Army interrogator who was one of the major people responsible for finding Saddam Hussein . . . The story is crazy, absolutely bizarre. It's a really cool director called Jean-Stéphane Sauvaire. We're going to shoot in Iraq next Summer. In January, I'm doing The Rover with David Michôd (who did the Australian movie Animal Kingdom), a futuristic Western with Guy Pearce."

Ladies, Robert Pattinson Is Coming To Australia To Film A New Movie!

What better way to head into Saturday night than knowing Robert Pattinson is headed to our sunny shores in the near future to film a movie.

What better way to head into Saturday night than knowing Robert Pattinson is headed to our sunny shores in the near future to film a movie. Our favourite vampire has been announced as a lead in David Michod’s The Rover — which also stars rising Aussie actor Joel Edgerton (Animal Kingdom) and fellow Australian Guy Pearce (Prometheus). Set in the Australian outback (road trip, anyone?), the plot surrounds a group of thieves who steal a car that contains something very important to its owner. The owner — played by Guy — pursues them, and ends up with an unlikely ally in one of the thieves — played by Rob. Fingers crossed he decides to stay in the country for the rest of his life. In other R-Pattz news, he has also been confirmed to star in Mission: Blacklist, about the army interrogator who led to the capture of Saddam Hussein.
