Celebrities were getting more and more into the holiday spirit this week and making sure to share their festive photos through social media. Jesse Tyler Ferguson and John Stamos both made visits to Santa Claus, while Lauren Conrad reunited with her Laguna Beach co-star Trey Phillips for a night of ice skating. Drew Barrymore flaunted a fun polka-dot manicure, while Chrissy Teigen showed off a sleek new haircut, and Kim Kardashian couldn't help but put her giant engagement ring on display while channelling her idol, Elizabeth Taylor. Meanwhile, Cameron Diaz shared a photo of her new, self-confidence-boosting Body Book, while model Jessica Hart's body was in a bikini on the beach — and Beyoncé Knowles is also somewhere in this round-up, although she may be a bit difficult to spot at first glance.
With two well-known people passing away this week, it's only natural that Twitter was awash with tribute tweets and words of reflection. Paul Walker's shock death had scores of celebrities tweeting their sorrow, but none were more heartfelt than those of his Fast & Furious co-stars. Nelson Mandela's passing yesterday was mourned around the globe, and Rihanna was just one high-profile star to mourn his death publically. It wasn't all doom and gloom, though — Joel Madden made sure of that! He and Jessica Biel both made us laugh out loud with their funny tweets, while many others like Anna Kendrick, John Legend and Ellen DeGerenes kept us entertained throughout the week. Following Nelson Mandela's passing at age 95, celebrities have taken to Twitter to share thoughtful words and tributes about the great world leader. President Barack Obama called Mandela "a man who took history in his hands," while stars like Kerry Washington, Jennifer Lopez, and Jamie Foxx thanked him for his impact on the world.
Prince William, who had just viewed a screening of the new film Mandela: Long Walk to Freedomwith Kate, said after receiving the news, "It's obviously extremely sad and tragic news. We were just reminded of what an extraordinary and inspiring man Nelson Mandela was, and my thoughts and prayers are with him and his family." Read more heartfelt celebrity messages below.

Who knew Miley Cyrus and Miranda Kerr were friends? In the small world that is Hollywood, the two popular stars linked up at an event and were snapped by famous photographer Mert Alas. There were plenty more girlfriend moments, such as Lara Bingle and Vicki Lee’s trip to Paris, and Delta Goodrem’s birthday celebration with a close friend. Couples also displayed their love on social media — we got kisses from Jennifer Hawkins and Jake Wall, a dinner date night in California from Ricki-Lee Coulter and Rich Harrison, and the first Twitter photo of Tim Robards and Anna Heinrich, who could finally go public with their relationship after the grand final of The Bachelor aired this week.
Is Ben Affleck worried about the Batman competition? On Friday, #Batkid became a top trend when San Francisco transformed into Gotham City to fulfil the wish of 5-year-old Miles Scott, a child who's battled leukemia for years. The adorable, heart-melting Batkid Make-a-Wish day had San Francisco locals gathering all over the city to support Batkid, and several celebrities took to social media to root for the little one, too. Take a look at all the famous faces who couldn't get enough of the sweet Batkid story, from actors who have played Batman to President Barack Obama.

During an interview, Christian Bale was over the moon about the whole thing:
"Wasn't that fantastic? I looked on the news and I saw this headline and thought, 'What's that?' And I saw all the pictures of him running around and saving people. It's so touching. He must have been bewildered! Hopefully, later on, he'll be able to look back and say, 'Oh my God, how amazing.'"
We're pretty sure Anna Kendrick speaks for all of us.

Batkid needed all the help he could get. Thanks, Val!

What got our favourite celebrities talking this week? Well, mostly other celebrities. Lena Dunham took to Twitter to chat to her fans about Lily Allen's new film clip and song, Kate Upton got typing to welcome her good friend (who knew?) Cameron Diaz to the Twittersphere, and Kelly Oxford lamented about modern-day Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal. Justin Timberlake talked about pasta — we knew we liked the guy — Sarah Jessica Parker sent love to the Phillipines and Rebel Wilson celebrated an impressive night in American television ratings. Oh, and Kaley Cuoco? She's not pregnant. Click through to read all these tweets, and more!
