Bondi Rescue—Following the Shore Thing New Year’s Eve concert in Bondi, the lifeguards have to deal with drunk partygoers who are intent on going for a swim. (Ten)

Grey’s Anatomy—Christina questions the competence of Owen’s recruit who is an Iraqi war veteran. Meanwhile, Izzie returns to Seattle Grace with her high school mentor who is seeking treatment for dementia. (Seven)

The City—Ahh, my favourite trashtastic reality series this summer. Whitney gambles by letting Roxy work a big project for her fashion line. (Why Whitney? For the love of God, why???) Meanwhile, Erin and Olivia get into their biggest fight yet. Team Erin! (MTV)

Bondi Rescue—The boys in blue boardies are back (no Speedos!) and saving yobbos from the Bondi surf for the fifth season. This week a man dressed in wedding gear causes as stir with his wild antics. Sounds like a keeper. (Ten)

The Mentalist—It’s a double dose of Simon Baker! Hurrah! Tonight the founder of a baseball academy is found dead in his Zen garden. A dead body in your garden has to be bad feng shui. (Nine)

Inside the Great Magazines—I grew up devouring magazines and as a former mag hag, this is must-see TV. This documentary takes a look at the inner workings of influential mags such as Vanity Fair, Playboy, Time, Paris Match and InStyle. (ABC1)

American Idol Auditions—Orlando: Kristin Chenoweth joins the guest judges as they suss out talent in Florida. (FOX8)

Larry King Live—Brittany Murphy’s mother and husband are scheduled to appear on the show tonight, one month after her tragic death. (CNN)

Australian Open—Day Four: Fernando Verdasco plays Ivan Sergeyev and Roger Federer plays Victor Hanescu in the men’s rounds, while Karolina Sprem takes on Aussie Casey Dellacqua. (Seven)

Grey Gardens—Check out Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange as Big Edie and Little Edie Bouvier Beale, Jackie Kennedy’s eccentric cousins. Drew just won the Golden Globe for this role. (Showtime)
