Angelina Jolie is on a roll! Following yesterday's news of her directorial debut, the actress is also eyeing a film role (this time in front of the camera) based on the British miniseries Unforgiven. The story follows a woman who leaves jail after a 15-year sentence for the murder of two policemen, as she attempts to quietly rejoin society.
Angelina's next film already sounds like a labor of love: the actress has a love story in the works that takes place during the 1992-1995 Bosnian War. During a trip to Sarajevo over the weekend, she mentioned that the film will focus on a couple that meets before the war and shows how their relationship is tested in the period that follows. The movie is undoubtedly inspired by the philanthropic efforts of the actress in third world countries, though, Jolie said, "The film is a love story, not a political statement."

I was a bit confused when the news broke that Angelina Jolie would replace Tom Cruise as the titular character in spy thriller Salt, but oh what a difference an actor swap can make. We'll never know what the film would have been like with Cruise (probably a watered-down Mission Impossible), but I can tell you this: Jolie is what makes this otherwise run-of-the-mill action film entertaining. Jolie is Evelyn Salt, a CIA agent living a seemingly provincial life with the arachnologist husband she loves and a dog curled up on the floor.
I've been eagerly awaiting the Angelina Jolie thriller Salt ever since the gender-bending news was announced that the actress would be replacing Tom Cruise in the title role. Angelina hasn't won many fans with her recent red carpet picks, but she's rumoured to be trying her hand at design—the actress might design a line of children's clothing with Brad Pitt to benefit charity. Of course, the project will have to come after her European tour promoting the upcoming blockbuster, which has included stops in and England and France.
