Now that Lara Bingle and Michael Clarke have split, the big question is what should she do with her 4.7 carat, $200,000 engagement ring? It was nearly two years ago that Michael popped the question in New York’s Central Park while the pair were on an Easter holiday. After the two returned home, they celebrated by having a lavish cocktail party for 300 guests at Luna Park. Michael quit the Australian cricket tour earlier this week to come home and end his relationship with Lara. She was spotted last night with her agent Max Markson and no ring on her finger. Now that he’s called the whole thing off, what do you think should happen to the ring?

Sex addiction and cheating with strippers seem to be the hot trends in Hollywood lately. Matthew Fox is the latest celeb to cheat on his partner with a stripper and now it appears Ryan Phillippe may be a sex addict. A source close to Abbie Cornish says she dumped him because, “he has a Tiger Woods problem.” She moved out of the house they shared this weekend while he was off visiting a “lady friend” with his children, Ava and Deacon, by ex-wife Reese Witherspoon. Ryan has long been accused of having a roving eye and has already been hitting the clubs on both coasts. Abbie has been busy shooting the film Sucker Punch in Vancouver for the past seven months and apparently in this case, absence didn’t make the heart grow fonder.

The Abbie Cornish and Ryan Phillippe, “I broke up with you first. No, I broke up with YOU first” war of words continues. No “it was amicable and they still remain the best of friends” PR spin from these two. Anyhoo, while both of their reps claim their client ended the four-year relationship, more details are coming out. A source from Team Abbie tells the New York Daily News, “Ryan wasn't going to marry her anytime soon. He was constantly out and about and doing his own thing." Ryan and Abbie were apart for seven months while she was filming and Ryan has most recently been on the prowl in NYC. The source adds, "Abbie took control of a bad situation and ended it once the truth became clear. She told him it was over as soon as she realised Ryan wasn't taking it as seriously as she was." Ryan isn't sitting at home feeling sorry for himself—he returned to the club scene early Tuesday morning and hit LA hostspot Teddy’s around midnight with friends.
Yesterday news broke that Abbie Cornish and Ryan Phillippe had split, with Abbie’s PR peeps issuing the first statement saying, “Abbie ended the relationship with Ryan and she moved out of their home.” Now Ryan’s PR peeps are in damage control mode. Let’s take a look at the latest:
Team Ryan: A source tells OK!, “Ryan ended the relationship recently while she was in Australia and asked her to come and remove her items from his residence. She was gone for seven months in production and they basically grew apart. They’d broken up a few times prior. There was no cheating or roving eyes.”
Team Abbie: Meanwhile, her source adds, “Abbie has always questioned Ryan’s loyalty. How could she not? When she began dating him he was married, she’s a smart girl. She knows men don’t change, she hoped he would but she always knew deep down this wasn’t forever.”
If she was TRULY a smart girl, she wouldn’t have messed with a married man, but, whatever. Now it seems Abbie may be heading back to Oz. The source adds, “She is seriously considering moving back to Australia before the summer. She moved here for Ryan and now doesn’t really think she could stay in L.A. without him.” I have a feeling this split is just going to get messier. Who do you believe—Ryan or Abbie?
Stick a fork in them, Abbie Cornish and Ryan Phillippe are officially dunzo. Abbie’s spokesperson confirmed the news to People magazine today saying, “Abbie ended the relationship with Ryan and she moved out of their home.” While she was moving, Ryan was spotted toy shopping with his children Ava and Deacon. There had been rumours that their relationship was on the rocks and that Ryan had gone back to his womanising ways. Abbie, 27, and Ryan, 35, met on the set of Stop-Loss and he subsequently divorced Reese Witherspoon amid speculation that Abbie played a part in the split. Ryan’s rep couldn’t be reached for a comment, but it looks like Abbie’s trying to spin the media in her favour by issuing an official statement first. What do you think? Is the split a good thing or do you think they’ll get back together?
Rose Byrne and fellow Aussie actor Brendan Cowell have called it quits after nearly seven years together. The two split last month right before the Golden Globes. On the red carpet Rose posed with her co-star Tate Donovan and at the time, I wondered why her boyfriend wasn’t with her. Brendan is currently based in LA, while Rose is based in New York, where she films her TV series Damages. The pair met through friends band began dating in 2003, but spent most of the time living on opposite sides of the globe, which put a strain on their relationship.

One of Hollywood’s strangest matches is all over red rover. Former Neighbours star Krista Vendy and actor William Hurt have called it quits. The pair were always under the radar and shocked everyone when they made their first appearance as a couple at the Academy Awards in 2006. Krista famously dumped Aussie-rules footballer Marcus Baldwin to be William’s date for the event. The pair were together for four years and Krista recently confirmed the split saying, “We're fantastic friends. We're going to be friends for life. I'm in a very happy place right now.” While they were dating, William cast Krista in the famous Chekov play Uncle Vanya and she received scathing reviews. He also received some bad press last year after former girlfriend Marlee Matlin released her autobiography and accused him of drug abuse and physical abuse during their two year relationship. The 59-year-old star seems to have embraced the newest Hollywood trend of excessive facial hair and looked quite a different when he appeared at the Golden Globes a few weeks ago.

While I was frolicking with dolphins over the Australia Day long weekend, this important little news item almost slipped under my radar. Almost. Ladies, Hamish Blake is back on the market. Deep breath. So, Hamish and his long-time actress/law student girlfriend Anna Jennings-Edquist have quietly split. The two hooked up back in 2004 when he was only 23. Which means there are A LOT of oats to be sewn. Yeees! Hamish confirmed the split happened two months ago and the couple remain close friends. The only downside I can see to dating Hamish would be the double dates with his comedic partner Andy Lee and girlfriend Megan Gale. How do you compete with THAT? Hamish recently released a book with Zoe Foster called Textbook Romance: A Step-By-Step Guide to Getting the Guy. Zoe split with her long-time boyfriend Craig Wing last year and is also currently single. Hmm...wonder if there is any URST (un-resolved sexual tension) there? How long before Hamish is snapped up? Who do you think would be his perfect match? Note to Cupid: I think I’ve found my perfect Valentine!

That was quick! Greg Norman and Chris Evert are officially all over red rover. After a brief 15 months of marriage, the sports stars quietly finalised their divorce in December. According to Florida's Palm Beach Post, the paperwork was finalised on December 8. The couple agreed to abide by their pre-nup, which was not made public, and no money changed hands as part of the settlement. Greg, 54, and Chris, 55, married in June 2008 in a lavish ceremony in the Bahamas.
