Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Feat. Daisy Duke

We've got festival fashion and beauty on the brain thanks to today's Big Day Out concert in Sydney, and one of the first gals to spring to mind when we think Perfect Festival Outfit is Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

The model wore the most adorable Christopher Kane daisy denim shorts to Coachella last year, but she sexed it up with dishevelled hair and a sheer white shirt. With lace bra visible, we actually clapped. Ready to rock out, RHW style?

When it comes to self tanning — especially if you're tanning for the races — guess work shouldn't come into play.

When it comes to self tanning — especially if you're tanning for the races — guess work shouldn't come into play. It's much more flattering, and enjoyable, if you know what you're doing and get the result you want, the first time. Some self tanners get a bad name simply because they aren't being used properly, so we decided to speak to the tanning experts at Tan Temple in Bondi (they recently won Tanning Salon of the Year at the Australian Beauty Industry Awards!) to get the facts. Want to know the five steps to a perfect at-home tanning session? Let's roll.

Cash or Credit: Non-Streaky Self Tan on Every Budget

Self tanning can be dangerous if you don't know what you're doing, and it's safe to say we've all woken up looking less bronzed goddess and more, well, streaky carrot.

Self tanning can be dangerous if you don't know what you're doing, and it's safe to say we've all woken up looking less bronzed goddess and more, well, streaky carrot. When self tanning in preparation for a big event like the races, it's best to have a test run first, so you know exactly what colour you'll be on the big day. There's a huge range of self tanners on the market so if you're feeling a little overwhelmed, trust us when we say you're not alone! Today we're featuring five we've actually tried and loved, and there's one to suit every budget.

Bella Review: St. Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Mousse Vs The New Self Tan Dark Mousse

If there is a new tan on the market, you can bet your way-too-brown elbow I'll trial it.

If there is a new tan on the market, you can bet your way-too-brown elbow I'll trial it. Self tanning is the easiest way to look fresh and glowing, and you don't have to sacrifice your skin's health! There's a lot to choose from in terms of brands, but what I'm often confused with is the shades — we're all pretty fair-skinned here at Sugar, so, should we stick to a light to medium tan? Or can we rock dark as well? Applying a dark tan can be nerve racking if you're naturally fair — just ask FabSugar's editor, Ali (left). We had her try St. Tropez Self Tan Dark Mousse ($59.95 200ml), while I gave the staple St. Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Mousse ($53.96 240ml) a go. Click through to find out the results.

Bella Review: Model Co's Super Tan Instant Self Tan

I don't know about you, but I like to look tanned all through Winter.

I don't know about you, but I like to look tanned all through Winter. Not too dark, but most definitely glowy. I usually use a gradual tanning cream, but this year I thought I'd step things up a notch and actually continue using a full fake tan. I'm a huge fan of Model Co's Tan Airbrush in a Can ($22), so when their new instant tanning foam, Super Tan Instant Self Tan ($39), landed on my desk, I couldn't wait to try it.

The colour intensity is deep/dark so I was a little weary about how much I applied, but I needn't have been — it's perfect! I used the brand's Blend Buffing Mit which I truly believe helps even coverage, and of course I exfoliated really well beforehand. The foam provides instant colour (with a very faint scent), and it is recommended you let the tan develop for at least two hours before showering. I was waiting to get to bed so I only left mine on for an hour-and-a-half, but I'm more than happy with the colour.

The formula includes macadamia oil and pomegranate extract so it left my skin feeling really soft. Another thing to note is the inclusion of Melatime — a tanning accelerate that helps your skin achieve a darker tan naturally, as it works on increasing the body’s Melanin levels.

Bella beauty stars: 4.5/5

Product in a nutshell: An instant tanning foam that tailors itself to your skin tone leaving you with a deep tan in two hours.

Who should use it: Anyone who wants to look like a bronzed goddess minus the fake tan smell.

Why we love it: Because it is easy to apply and doesn't streak. And, there wasn't a hint of orange in sight.
