Lady Gaga rolled into town and any fears we had that she was too knackered to tour were laid to rest last night. She must have had some Red Bull, because girlfriend killed it at the Sydney Entertainment Centre. The high concept show had 16 costume changes and was a lip-synch free zone. Instead of fans walking out, they wanted more—even after two hours. Bella was right in the middle of the action and sat right behind Gaga’s publicist, near the front of the stage. Not that we’re jealous or anything....Gaga’s back for another concert tonight before taking the show on the road to Melbourne. Did you catch the Sydney concert? Tell us what you thought in comments!
Taylor Swift flashes a coy smile and an edgy look for the April issue of US Elle. Inside she reveals who she thinks is hot: Taylor Lautner, suggesting the interview took place before their December split. She also talks about her good girl reputation and tendency to turn heartache into lyrics for her Grammy-winning songs. Click for more photos and here are highlights:
On who she thinks is hot: “Um, well…Taylor Lautner.”
On whether she’s really "fearless": "I overthink everything. I overanalyse everything."
On media scrutiny: "I’ve had countless opportunities to do some really bad things. And then people start combing through everything I do trying to find the next mistake and misperception, which leads to more scrutiny. Like, if I go to a bar, even if I’m not drinking, who’s to say that a source isn’t going to say that I was doing something I shouldn’t have been doing? So it’s not only about your own moral compass, but the moral compasses of other people that you don’t know."
On yearning to visit Nashville as a child: "I just got it into my head that there was this magical place that I needed to go to because that was where dreams come true."
On sourcing material from her romantic relationships: "I like to categorise the various levels of heartbreak. I’ve only had that happen once. A letdown is worth a few songs. A heartbreak is worth a few albums."
Lily Allen looked glamorous in England yesterday at the launch of Vintage At Goodwood, a three day festival in August where Lily will launch her vintage dress shop Lucy in Disguise. She also announced that despite her plans to retire from music, she will support Jay-Z at London's Wireless Festival in Hyde Park in July. Her calm exterior's quite different to her alleged behaviour the night before at the NME Awards, where she reportedly had an argument with Courtney Love. Courtney apparently was offended by something Lily said about Frances Bean and proceeded to shout at her, which left Lily shaken and upset as her boyfriend Sam Cooper led her away in tears. It's good to see her smiling again at Goodwood. 7571844
Miley Cyrus has recorded a sexy duet with Bret Michaels, with lyrics that include him suggesting that she take off her clothes. Their age difference is making some people squeamish about the racy subject matter, but take a listen and let us know what you think!
Jennifer Lopez took the stage in full-body leather on Friday at the sixtieth annual San Remo Song Festival in Italy. She wrapped up her performance with a downpour of confetti, and apparently asked the crowd, "You didn't know I could do that, did you?" J Lo has been bringing back the skintight looks this year, starting off with her sparkly New Year's catsuit. Her return to singing was a little bumpy with her rather unpopular single "Louboutins," but it looks like there's no stopping Jennifer as she stays in hyper J Lo mode and gets ready to host SNL next weekend. 7503683
Justin Timberlake has spent the last week focusing on fashion in NYC with his latest show for William Rast, but the always multitasking star also has a new music video. He makes a guest appearance on the song "Carry Out," which will be on Timbaland's upcoming album. We haven't heard much singing from Justin since he wrapped up his FutureSex/LoveSounds tour in 2007, though he has made a number of cameos including "Rehab" with Rihanna and "Dead and Gone" with TI. But tell us what you think of his latest collaboration—love it or leave it?
