Ryan Gosling is used to being the one directed in shirtless situations, but the roles were reversed yesterday on the Detroit set of How to Catch a Monster when Ryan called the shots. The actor continued production on his writing and directorial debut by shooting scenes with Matt Smith, who has a huge fanbase thanks to his turn as Doctor Who. Matt showed off a shaved head and very muscular physique in the scenes, which saw him singing while standing in a moving car and lifting weights. The fantasy noir also stars Ryan’s The Place Beyond the Pines co-stars Eva Mendes and Ben Mendelsohn, his Drive co-star Christina Hendricks, and Irish actress Saoirse Ronan. It was also recently announced that Warner Bros. had acquired the movie.
Kylie Minogue and Emma Watson were among the many stylish ladies who attended the British GQ Men of the Year Awards in at The Royal Opera House in London last night. Kylie looked gorgeous in a little black dress while Emma showed off an edgier look in a tartan print frock. They were joined by the likes of Holly Valance, who will appear on the newest series of Strictly Come Dancing, Charlize Theron, Leona Lewis, and models Lara Stone and Daisy Lowe at the event. Among the men who came out to celebrate were U2, Bradley Cooper, Heston Blumenthal, Jamie Callum and John Legend.
Matthew Williamson sat next to Jude Law in the front row at buddy Sienna Miller's Twenty8Twelve on Saturday, and the following day Sienna was spotted backstage at Matthew's London Fashion Week show, rocking some bright red lips. Daisy Lowe modelled for Vivienne Westwood, and her man Matt Smith, the current Dr. Who, was in the front row to watch her stride down the catwalk. Cat Deeley showed off her smile at Matthew Williamson's show and also sat next to Elle MacPherson at Julien Macdonald's collection!
After all the celebrities walked the red carpet at the GQ UK Men of the Year Awards last night, they headed inside for the ceremony. Breakthrough Talent winner Ed Westwick posed with Lily Allen, while Woman of the Year Gemma Arterton cosied up with Nicholas Hoult. Noel Gallagher congratulated Jason Statham on his Editor's Special Award and Damon Albarn posed with Gorillaz's gong for Best Band. Martin Scorsese presented Giorgio Armani with his statue for Designer of the Year. Plenty of couples were celebrating too. International Male Jon Hamm sat with his girlfriend, Jennifer Westfeldt, while James Corden got a kiss from his girlfriend as he won the Comedian prize. Daisy Lowe chatted with her ex Mark Ronson and also posed proudly with her new man Matt Smith, who was named Actor of the Year. While, Most Stylish Man Aaron Johnson had Sam Taylor-Wood by his side at the ceremony.
The stars came out last night to celebrate GQ's Men of the Year at the Royal Opera House in London. Gemma Arterton was on the red carpet again, after premiering Tamara Drewe on Monday. She was named Woman on the Year, taking the crown from Lily Allen who won the award last year. Lily brought her growing baby bump, and Alexa Chung and Hayley Atwell were also amongst the other women there to congratulate the men on their success. Mad Men's Jon Hamm was named International Male, while Ben Affleck was in Venice promoting their movie The Town.
