Today, Calvin Klein officially unveiled Rooney Mara as the face of its newest fragrance, Downtown — but the brand got an early start celebrating the news last night. Despite the rain, stars including Rooney, Carey Mulligan, Nicole Kidman, and Skyfall's Naomie Harris stopped by Calvin Klein's beachside bash at the Cannes Film Festival yesterday evening.

Rooney marked the new partnership alongside Francisco Costa, the creative director of Calvin Klein Collection, at the party, which was also hosted by Belvedere and IWC. Inside the dimly lit and intimate soiree, she chatted with producer Harvey Weinstein, while Carey mingled by the DJ booth before making an early departure. Nicole also made time in her Cannes schedule to attend. All three actresses are busy working this week. Carey's The Great Gatsby premiered on opening night; Rooney's latest film, Ain't Them Bodies Saints, will also debut later this week; and Nicole is serving as a member of the film festival's official jury.

Skyfall's Leading Ladies Dish On "Beautiful Human Being" Daniel Craig

As the latest in a long line of Bond girls, Bérénice Marlohe and Naomie Harris have earned an impressive distinction.

As the latest in a long line of Bond girls, Bérénice Marlohe and Naomie Harris have earned an impressive distinction. Skyfall opened in US cinemas two Fridays ago and made a staggering $87.8 million in its opening weekend — the most of any Bond film, ever (it opens in Australia on Nov. 22). We caught up with the co-stars in Beverly Hills recently to talk about the surreal experience of joining the world-famous franchise. Bérénice and Naomie also gave us the scoop on working with 007 himself, Daniel Craig, and applauded their leading man's "brilliant" sense of humour and down-to-earth nature.

The Best of the Bond Girls: From Casino Royale to Skyfall

Daniel Craig transforms into his suited-up secret agent alter ego for the third time in the latest James Bond installment, Skyfall, out this month.

Daniel Craig transforms into his suited-up secret agent alter ego for the third time in the latest James Bond installment, Skyfall, out this month. But where would James Bond be without his girls? Skyfall stays true to the series with the addition of two women joining the ranks of iconic Bond girls. French actress Bérénice Marlohe plays Sévérine, who may or may not be on Bond's side. And Britain's Naomie Harris stars as Eve, Bond's sexy coagent in the Secret Service. Last year the very first Bond girl, Linda Christian, passed away at 87. She played Valerie Mathis in the 1954 TV adaptation of Casino Royale before James Bond films hit the big screen.

There have been countless Bond girls over the years, from Pussy Galore to Mary Goodnight to Strawberry Fields, and the most iconic 007 femme fatale would probably be bikini-clad Ursula Andress, who played Honey Ryder in the first James Bond film, Dr. No, in 1962. See the bodacious ladies who've wielded guns, showed off their assets, and bedded Bond for the last 50-plus years!

The Week in Pictures: Rob & Kristen, Jake's Mystery Girl, Miranda With Flynn & More!

It's been a big week for premieres this time round, with two major films each being introduced on opposite sides of the world.

It's been a big week for premieres this time round, with two major films each being introduced on opposite sides of the world. In Los Angeles, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson took to the red carpet to promote final Twilight film, Breaking Dawn Part 2, while over here in Sydney Daniel Craig and his leading ladies Naomie Harris and Berenice Marlohe showed off new Bond film, Skyfall. It wasn't just premiere's keeping celebrities busy — we watched Taylor Swift do her thing on stage at the MTV Europe Music Awards while her ex, Jake Gyllenhaal, showed off his mystery girlfriend as they held hands walking around New York. Then there was the fashionable event that was the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards (where Emma Stone was a total knockout) and a sighting of the cute Garner-Affleck family — sans one member. There's a whole lot more to see, so click through and catch up on the week that was!

Daniel Craig Suits Up With His Glam Bond Girls at Sydney Skyfall Premiere

Gloomy weather didn’t stop hundreds of people from lining the streets around the State Theatre in Sydney to get a glimpse of current James Bond portrayer Daniel Craig last night.

Gloomy weather didn’t stop hundreds of people from lining the streets around the State Theatre in Sydney to get a glimpse of current James Bond portrayer Daniel Craig last night. In town to promote the latest instalment, Skyfall (out Nov. 22), with beautiful Bond girls Naomie Harris and Bérénice Marlohe, a Tom Ford-clad Daniel was the first star to arrive at the Australian premiere, and he split his time between media interviews and meeting with fans who had waited for hours across the road. He’s been called the hottest Bond ever, but when asked how he feels about his sex symbol status he said he was “very embarrassed.” He also told us that it was difficult to unwind at the end of shoot days, saying, “You don’t. There’s no time to unwind, unfortunately. I live and breathe it while I’m doing it.”

Bérénice, who looked radiant in purple J. Mendel, was excited to be in Australia after learning about the country through a Disney movie as a child, and told us how music helped her get into character as Séverine. Naomie, in a Margiela dress and Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, spilled on her favourite new skill that she learned in preparation for the role of agent Eve, as well as why she’s loved doing the press tour.

  • Bérénice on coming to Australia: “I love it. I had just one afternoon to do a quick view, unfortunately. Since I was a kid I was fascinated with New Zealand and Australia because I saw [Disney characters] Bernard and Bianca at the land of the kangaroos when I was a kid! I was just fascinated, like wow — this nature, these landscapes, and how do you call the beautiful orange mountain? Ayers Rock. I remember the two mouse characters being on an eagle flying over that [in The Rescuers Down Under]! And I thought, ‘One day I have to go there, definitely.’”
  • Bérénice on lighter moments during the filming of intense scenes: “It was so funny before the shower scene. Daniel and I, we love to laugh all the time, and at one point, when I was in between takes, I was singing in the shower. [Director] Sam [Mendes] goes, ‘Oh, you’re singing!’ And Daniel would arrive and do some impersonation of other people and he was so funny.”
  • Naomie on memorable moments of the international press tour: “I think the fact that fact that we’ve really gotten to bond — no pun intended! When you’re filming and everybody’s doing different things — for instance, I didn’t know Bérénice, because I never had any scenes with her in the movie, but obviously doing this tour we get to really know each other, which is fantastic.”

Javier Bardem Accepts a Star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame

Javier Bardem was honoured in Hollywood today by his Skyfall director, Sam Mendes, and co-stars Bérénice Marlohe and Naomie Harris.

Javier Bardem was honoured in Hollywood today by his Skyfall director, Sam Mendes, and co-stars Bérénice Marlohe and Naomie Harris. Penélope Cruz missed out on the celebration, though Javier got plenty of praise from fans and peers while accepting the prestigious honour. Just last year, Javier and Penélope were among the very first Spanish actors to accept similar recognition with their own plaques on Madrid's Walk of Fame.

The Oscar-winning actor plays Bond's nemesis Raoul Silva in the latest 007 flick, though it was Javier's real-life friendship with Daniel Craig that landed him the role. Daniel and Javier crossed paths during a Haiti fundraising event in 2010, and the rest is history. It appears Daniel and Javier's onscreen rivalry is a hit with moviegoers, as Skyfall is on track to take home the top spot at the box office this weekend and has already broken records around the globe.

Daniel Craig and Daniel Day-Lewis Win Big at The Britannia Awards

Stars hit the red carpet at the 2012 BAFTA Los Angeles Britannia Awards at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Wednesday night.

Stars hit the red carpet at the 2012 BAFTA Los Angeles Britannia Awards at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Wednesday night. Daniel Craig was joined by his Skyfall Bond girls, Oscar de la Renta-clad Bérénice Marlohe and Naomie Harris, but it was his wife, Rachel Weisz, who he leaned in to kiss before picking up the British artist of the year honour.

Daniel Day-Lewis was also in attendance, and after Steven Spielberg presented him with the Stanley Kubrick Award for Excellence in Film, he took advantage of his stage time to show off his funny side. Daniel thanked BAFTA with a spoof of Clint Eastwood's conversation with an empty chair at the Republican National Convention. The comical speech was somewhat unexpected from Daniel, who is best known for his serious roles, including Spielberg's Lincoln, which is released in Australia on Feb. 7.

We all know the power of a strong lip, and on Wednesday night, stars were ditching red lipstick for a bold new colour: purple. Actress Naomie Harris and singer Rihanna went for rich bordeaux hues, while Bérénice Marlohe opted for a softer wine-stained look. You can try aubergine lips, too, with a bold lipstick like MAC Lipstick in Rebel ($36), or you can go for a stain like CoverGirl Lip Slicks Lipgloss in Edgy ($10.95). Whether you have a fair or dark complexion, plush plum shades will make a glamorous statement.
