On the Road

Kristen Stewart was photographed by Inez & Vinoodh for the cover of V Magazine's Spring Preview 2013 issue. In an interview with the magazine, Kristen spoke about her film On the Road, which is available for DVD release next month. In particular, Kristen opened up about Marylou, the wild teen bride she portrays in the movie, and the difficulties and responsibilities that come with playing a character on screen. Here are highlights from Kristen Stewart in V magazine:

• On her On the Road character, Marylou: "Until you really get to know the woman behind the character, it's difficult to connect the dots. I'm a contemporary, sensitive, normal girl, and it's difficult to try and empathise with someone who seems to have a lack of empathy. She seems a bit callous in the book."
• On her new attitude: "I have realised that you can close yourself off to life if you put walls up, but it's a difficult thing. So I've gotten quite comfortable with just being unafraid. I keep saying the same thing: it's not about being fearless but really just embracing the fears and using them."
• On her responsibility as an actress: "It's a pretty f**king odd thing to want to pretend to be another person and then have a lot of other people who watch you do that. You have this experience of reading something, and if you don't bring it to life, you're basically deleting it. The responsibility is amazing."

Kristen Stewart teamed up with Garrett Hedlund, Kirsten Dunst, and Sam Riley at the NYC premiere of On the Road last night. Kristen chose another sheer look, this time a blue Erdem outfit, while Kirsten went neutral in Christian Dior. The co-stars posed for photos on their way into the screening, which was just the latest in a string of press events for the film. Kristen, Garrett, and Kirsten met up Wednesday for a special screening after Kristen and Garrett returned from a promotional trip to the West Coast.

Kristen Stewart and Garrett Hedlund headed north for a special Vanity Fair screening of On the Road in Marin, CA last night. Kristen wore leather pants from H&M and a jacket by BCBG. The co-stars posed for photos and participated in a Q&A at the event, which was held at George Lucas' Skywalker Ranch. Producer Francis Ford Coppola was on hand as was director Walter Salles. Kristen and Garrett are ramping up promotion for their film. They got together for another screening in LA on Thursday after Kristen dressed up for an appearance at the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences' fourth annual Governors Awards last weekend. Her schedule isn't slowing down either, since Kristen is expected to attend the 12-12-12 Hurricane Sandy Fundraiser at Madison Square Garden next week.

Kristen Stewart and Garrett Hedlund attended an LA screening of On the Road at Sundance Cinemas last night. Also out for the evening were producer Francis Ford Coppola and his son Roman, who posed for pictures with Parks and Recreation star Aubrey Plaza. Kristen and Garrett have been busy talking up their big-screen adaptation of the classic Jack Kerouac novel recently. Last week, they both attended the Variety studio to chat about the picture. Kristen recently got an early holiday present thanks to her big year of filmmaking — she ranked on The Hollywood Reporter's list of the most powerful women in Hollywood.

Kristen Stewart joined co-star Garrett Hedlund and On the Road director Walter Sales for a screening of their movie in NYC on Thursday evening. She's been in the city to help promote Breaking Dawn Part 2, but she was able to take a break and focus on her indie project for the night. Kristen showed off a new clip from Breaking Dawn to Jimmy Fallon on his show earlier in the week, and on Thursday it was her boyfriend and leading man Robert Pattinson's turn to chat on the late-night show. Kristen Stewart's style has been daring — and leg-baring! — so far during this final Twilight press tour, and all eyes will be on her when she and the rest of the cast have their official premiere in LA next week.

Let the record show: Kristen Stewart isn't afraid to show off a little leg on her Breaking Dawn Part 2 promo tour, and her appearance on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon last night was just the latest example of her penchant for thigh-high ensembles. For the occasion, she chose a sportier LBD courtesy of A.L.C.'s Spring '13 collection, pairing it with black Jimmy Choo pumps, her favourite Cartier Juste un Clou bracelet, and a sultry smoky eye.
