Emily Blunt celebrated both Hollywood and her fellow British actors at the 2013 London Film Critics' Circle Awards on Sunday. Emily wore Alexander McQueen to the event and was nominated for best British actress for her roles in Looper and Your Sister's Sister but was beat out by Andrea Riseborough. Meanwhile, Les Misérables's Samantha Barks was nominated for young British performer of the year but was bested by The Impossible's Tom Holland. Samantha's costar Helena Bonham Carter was given one of the biggest honors of the night, the Dilys Powell award for excellence in film. Other big winners from the night included Anne Hathaway, who won best supporting actress; Joaquin Phoenix, who won actor of the year; and Emmanuelle Riva, who won actress of the year. Samantha's no stranger to the tragic story of Fantine, Cosette, and Jean Valjean, as she told us during a recent press day in NYC. She stars as the daughter of Sacha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter in the film, and opened up about her dreams of working alongside both Sacha and Helena. One scene with Sacha was, in particular, a difficult one to act out.
