It's been a massive week for celebs, with numerous different events meaning everyone who's anyone was out and about. It was a week of musical resurgence, what with two of our all-time favourite music makers — Destiny's Child and Justin Timberlake — getting back behind the microphone for the Super Bowl. In Australia, Miranda Kerr came back and stormed the catwalk for David Jones at the launch of their 2013 Autumn/Winter collections, and Michael and Kyly Clarke showed the world that marriage is working very well for them as they celebrated the Allan Border Medal. There was plenty more that filled the week — click through to see it all in pictures!
There were plenty of great Super Bowl ads this year, but the commercials also showcased some pretty awesome new trailers. Looking forward to Oz: The Great and Powerful? We got that. Star Trek Into Darkness? We got that, too. Check out all the latest footage and let us know which movie you're most looking forward to!
There were many stars who attended the Super Bowl and its pre-game festivities in New Orleans this past weekend — and they were happy to share their social snaps with the world. Beyoncé Knowles celebrated her successful Super Bowl half-time show with Jay-Z backstage while Alicia Keys got cosy with Swizz Beatz on the field after singing the national anthem before the game. Meanwhile, Channing Tatum took part in the NFL Honor Awards and Ian Somerhalder played a celebrity football game with Nina Dobrev. Sure, the Super Bowl may not seem like the place for beauty to take centre stage, but the women who show their faces at this game always bring it. Click through to see the top hair and makeup looks of Super Bowl 2013, from the opening singers to the half-time show (ah, hello Destiny's Child!).
As Australians it’s pretty hard for us to get into the actual Super Bowl game, but when it comes to the half-time show, which in the past has been performed by the likes of Prince, Madonna and a combination of the Black Eyed Peas, Usher and Slash, we give it our full attention. The half-time performer for 2013 was Beyoncé, and she brought the house Superdome down when she hit the stage for a medley of some of her biggest hits. (There was a blackout after she finished and people joked on social media that her hot performance was the cause.) She kicked things off with "Love on Top" and continued into "Crazy in Love." Rumours that she’d be joined by her Destiny’s Child bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams were confirmed when they popped out of the stage to sing "Bootylicious," "Independent Women" and "Single Ladies" with Bey. To finish, Beyoncé slowed things down with "Halo." In case you missed it or want to watch it again — we certainly are! — press play.
Beyoncé Knowles gave a live performance for Super Bowl XLVII's half-time show today in New Orleans. She rocked the Superdome in sexy black leather with her performances of hits old and new including "Crazy in Love" and "Single Ladies." Beyoncé, showing off a [Sasha] fierce manicure as usual, was also joined by surprise special guests — her Destiny's Child bandmates, Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland, to perform their hit "Bootylicious" before closing out the show with her song "Halo" to a rocking crowd.
Beyoncé gave a sneak peak into today's big show when she quieted critics by belting out an impromptu performance of the National Anthem during a a press conference in New Orleans late last week. It's an exciting time for Beyoncé leading up to today's big show — check out her road to the Super Bowl.
There just no one else like her, and following the backlash she received for lip-syncing the national anthem last week — Beyoncé came back with vengeance at today's Super Bowl half-time show. Not only did she kill it, but she wore a leather leotard and was joined on stage by her Destiny's Child counterparts (they popped up from the stage floor — amazing!). Queen B brought a whole lotta Sasha Fierce to her performance, keeping those gold nails intact and opting for long curls. Her eyes were stage-ready smoky, and the lips a glossy nude. Classic Beyoncé. Beyoncé Knowles certainly brought her Sasha Fierce alter-ego for her half-time performance at today's Super Bowl game in New Orleans. The sexy songstress wowed the crowd with her all-hit repertoire (including "Love On Top", "Single Ladies", "Crazy In Love" — with some help from Destiny's Child pals Michelle Williams and an Emilio Pucci-clad Kelly Rowland), but it was her scene-stealing costume that got, and held, our attention. It have even topped Madonna's Givenchy number from last year's half-time show. The new mum wore a structured leather leotard designed by long-time costume collaborator Rubin Singer, which featured quilted straps and a lace cut-work mini-peplum-cum-skirt. Nude fishnet stockings, knee-high socks, solid lace-up Proenza Schouler ankle boots (which look like a leather version of these suede puppies), elbow-length gloves and a gold mani added just the right dose drama. If you didn't see her in action, we suggest you step on in and take a closer look at Sasha's, er, Beyoncé's killer costume plus the original sketch by the designer.
Since the news came out last October, it's been a long wait for Beyoncé Knowles' Super Bowl half-time performance. We'll finally get to see the singer in action today, but first we're taking a look back at all the preparation, including her appearances at the NFL Championship in years past.
