New Moon, The Hangover Lead MTV Movie Awards Noms

Proving that there's really no end to award season in Hollywood, the 2010 MTV Movie Awards nominees have been announced! Naturally, the Twilight kids are all over these categories, but New Moon also gets some lofty competition from movies like The Hangover, The Proposal and Avatar. With categories like "Best WTF Moment," "Biggest Badass Star" and "Best Scared-as-S**t Performance," these definitely aren't the Oscars. But considering the show's history of shenanigans and comedian Aziz Ansari playing host, it should be a night of fun. Voting is now open so be sure to give some love to your favourite the Aussie contenders (cough... Sam Worthington and Isabel Lucas... cough)-but good luck trying to edge out the Twi-hards. Sandra Bullock Cancels Her UK Premiere Appearance

Sandra Bullock has canceled a trip to the UK next week to promote her movie The Blind Side, which she won the Best Actress Oscar for earlier this month. Sandra was due to attend interviews and the movie premiere in London next Tuesday, but this statement was released overnight:

"Due to unforeseen personal reasons a trip abroad to support The Blind Side has been deemed impossible at this time. I apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused and thank you for your continued support of the film."

Whether this is due to rumours in the US press about marital troubles remains to be seen.

Sandra Bullock Talks Kissing Meryl, Fueding With George and Her Razzie in the Oscar Press Room!

Sandra Bullock's speech had many of us tearing up during today's Oscars and when she got back to the press room, she got yet another standing ovation. The best actress winner was humble, sweet and funny-everything she's gained a reputation of being throughout this amazing award season. Her proud husband Jesse James hung out and watched her answer questions, though she wouldn't divulge what he whispered in her ear when she won and joked that he wasn't really tearing up when she went up to accept since he's such a tough guy. Here's some of the great Sandra quotes:

On expecting the win: No, as I said up on that stage, I questioned did I win it or just wore everyone down . . . hung in there the longest. I didn't aspire to this. I admired it. I was in awe of it. I got to watch it. I didn't think the opportunity would ever arise. I was OK with that, and I was happy. This came out of left field, no pun intended. This was the film I said no to. If I thought this was going to be my golden ticket-I didn't see it coming. No one saw it coming. I look at the company that I keep in this category and you can't pick. There's not one that rises above the others. I feel like I share it equally in five parts because we ladies need to stick together.
On kissing Ryan Reynolds and Meryl Streep: No one noticed me [in The Proposal nude scene with Ryan] because he was in the scene too. Ryan, who is my friend, is a freak of nature with how he looks. No one expects Meryl to roll with the flow like that. No one knows how much fun Meryl Streep is. I won't tell you half of what she'd do, or what she's done. She's an awesome broad. She's an extraordinary actor, but she's also a pretty fun human being. No one's ever taking the bull by the horns like that, but I did.
On the pool incident she referred to in her speech: There was also a Tom Cruise involved in that as well and I told them that one day, in a very public forum, I would get them back. But I looked at George tonight and he looked so tired so I thought I couldn't do that to him. He'll have to tell you.
On All About Steve and the Razzies: I want you to watch it. No interruptions, I want you to watch it . . . [The Oscar and the Razzie] are going to sit side by side. As they should. We're the entertainment business-that's what we're supposed to do. Take the good with the not so good. I had the best time at the Razzies last night. It probably means more that they happened at the same time. They're the great equaliser. They'll sit side by side on a nice little shelf somewhere . . . maybe the Razzie on a different shelf . . . lower.

I really, really hope that Sandra Bullock wins Best Actress for The Blind Side tonight. The trailer had me sobbing so hard and I just feel she deserves it for being a totally lovely person, y'know? Either way, umm, could her hair be anymore shiny? I love that she's gone for a simple hairstyle-sleek and straight with a curl in the ends. And Sandy, if you're reading this, wear that lipstick at ALL times; it is YOUR colour. LOVE.

We were recently taking our own tally at Sugar HQ and several editors have been trying to squeeze in last-minute viewing parties of the Oscar nominees they've missed out on before tonight's big award gets handed out. But what about you? Hopefully, by now you've already seen the ones most likely to win, but take my poll and tell me how many you've seen. Award season's darling is also the biggest surprise: Sandra Bullock has been sweeping the best actress category for her role as a big-hearted Tennessee mother. It's a strong category, there's no denying it, and her competitors have either youth or Academy experience on their side. But with all her wins, I think Sandra is a certainty.

Movie Watch: Sandra Bullock in The Blind Side

I think it's possible to recognise that something (say, a trailer) has been created to manipulate your feelings and force you to cry and to STILL cry anyway. This is what watching the trailer for The Blind Side was all about for me. The movie is based on a book by Michael Lewis which, as I recall from reading it a while ago, focuses a great deal on technical gridiron analysis. Still, Lewis also weaves in the story of the remarkable left tackle Michael Oher, who was a homeless kid in Memphis, Tenneesee until he was taken in by a wealthy white family. Soon after, his size and impressive abilities on the football field brought him attention-and recruitment battles-from college coaches. The movie centers on Oher's (played by Quinton Aaron) story, with Sandra Bullock in the role of the mother who takes him in. I love watching Sandra Bullock and still, I was so engrossed in this trailer that I'd forgotten who she was by the end of it. It may turn out to be a predictable, sentimental film but I'm going to watch it nonetheless. What do you think? Does Sandra deserve an Oscar for her performance?
