The 2013 Billboard Music Awards, which were hosted by Tracy Morgan, took over the MGM Grand in Las Vegas today!

The 2013 Billboard Music Awards, which were hosted by Tracy Morgan, took over the MGM Grand in Las Vegas today! The stars hit the red carpet to kick off proceedings and then made their way inside to get the fun started. Bruno Mars stuck to his usual suited up look in red ensemble to open the show while Carly Rae Jepsen, who won top digital song and two other honours, debuted hair of the same hue when she took the microphone to announce Icona Pop's performance of "I Love It." Shania Twain handed out the first statue of the event to Nicki Minaj, who won top rap artist, while Selena Gomez took the stage to perform "Come & Get It." Tracy had a little fun in front of the audience by challenging Psy to a dance off while Macklemore and Ryan Lewis teamed up to sing their top rap song, "Thrift Shop."

Taylor Swift, who picked up six awards before the show even started and two more, including artist of the year, during the broadcast, was another of the show's performers, belting out "22" after walking the carpet in a bright blue Zuhair Murad dress. Other big winners included Rihanna and Gotye, each with four trophies, as well as Justin Bieber with the milestone award.

Taylor Swift's Billboard Music Awards is already off to a great start — she racked up six wins before the show thanks to a pre-telecast announcement of a handful of categories. Taylor picked a blue Zuhair Murad mini dress to hit the red carpet before taking her seat alongside BFF Selena Gomez and her on-again off-again boyfriend Justin Bieber inside. Taylor's latest single "22" is currently tearing up the charts as she travels on her world tour, though she was able to take time off recently to attend the Met Gala and film a guest starring role on the New Girl season finale.

Taylor Swift was just in Australia last November for a whirlwind promo tour, but at the end of the year she’ll be back, bigger than ever.

Taylor Swift was just in Australia last November for a whirlwind promo tour, but at the end of the year she’ll be back, bigger than ever. This morning was it was announced that Taylor will be bringing her Red world tour Down Under again, and she’ll be playing stadium shows in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth. It’s a big deal — she’ll be the first female act to headline stadium venues in Australia since Madonna in 1993, a testament to her strong Aussie fanbase. Frontier Touring promoter Michael Gudinski said, “It’s a sign of the achievements of Taylor Swift and the loyal fanbase she’s built up that she will be the first woman to play stadiums nationally here since Madonna.” For her part, Taylor said, “That’s mind-blowing and a real honour.”

The 2013 Met Gala may have given celebrities a chance to channel their inner punk rocker in NYC yesterday, but once the event drew to a close, it was clear that these edgy new looks were only meant to last for the night. Stars like Cameron Diaz and Miranda Kerr were spotted returning to their normal selves as they left the bash, with Cameron chatting on her mobile as she waited for her car and Miranda enlisting Michael Kors to help her navigate the stairs in her heels. Emma Roberts got help from Jaime King as she left the party, clutching onto her pal's hand as she carefully walked down the museum's famous stairs while Gwen Stefani made a smooth exit with Gavin Rossdale. Meanwhile, stars like Anne Hathaway and Taylor Swift were showing no signs of slowing down, using the mass exit of celebrities as a chance to catch up with their favourite small-screen stars like Game of Thrones' Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and New Girl's Zooey Deschanel.

Of course, just because the Met Gala wrapped up, that didn't mean the party had ended. Anne, Miranda, and many more celebrities hit up the after party at the Boom Boom Room later to dance the night away.
