2011 Spring Milan Fashion Week Backstage Beauty Report: D&G

2011 Spring Milan Fashion Week: D&G

Despite the feminine and floaty silhouettes and floral designs that Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce sent down the runway for Spring '11, the hair brief was not to follow suit. Eugene Souleiman said he wanted to avoid anything that was "too romantic or girly," so simply tonging the ends of the girls' freshly-washed hair to give a tiny bit of texture and movement. Voilà. Looking good really is that simple. Pat McGrath was at the helm when it came to face painting and she kept models' skin matte and pale, save for some rosy cheeks. LOVE. Then it was mascara and either a light pink blush or balm on the lips: the designers said no gloss.
