2011 Spring Milan Fashion Week Backstage Beauty Report: Prada

2011 Spring Milan Fashion Week: Prada

I'm glad that lead hair stylist Guido Palau quipped backstage that the wet-look flapper Prada Spring '11 'do is "not a look you’d try at home," because, let's face it, someone had to say it. Not only does it require some fierce technical know-how to pull off good finger waves, but it would take you about an hour to apply enough Redken Super Strong 016 Hardware Gel that's needed for the style! It's a very androgynous look that was inspired by Josephine Baker, whom Ernest Hemingway described as "the most sensational woman anyone ever saw." Pat McGrath added glamour to the masculine look, but was still keen to keep things within the realms of androgyny, by creating a strong brow to house the metallic silver eye. It was finished with a nude lip. Hmmm. Jury's still out for me on this one. What do you think? Do you rate it?
