2011 Spring New York Fashion Week: Jason Wu to Launch CND Nail Polishes in May
2011 Spring New York Fashion Week: Jason Wu
At Jason Wu's show the '70s was in the air. Models walked the runway wearing an intricate style created by Odile Gilbert — the hair was spilt into sections and then braided around chiffon, before being secured at the nape of the neck. The makeup again gave a nod to the disco era, by creating three coloured variants of the classic smoky eye. My favourite was the green/gold combo pictured above. LOVE. The most exciting piece of news, however, was that the models were wearing nail polish shades from Jason Wu Nail Color and Effects Collection by CND. Heading into the beauty realm is a first for Wu, and in turn, it's CND's first direct partnership with a designer. "Every season I play with different ways of using colour in my collection, so it was a natural choice to collaborate with CND on a capsule of nail colours that reflects my aesthetics," Wu told WWD. Available in May/June 2011 in Australia, the stylish palette features four staple colours: Miss Wu (a limestone grey), Brigitte (a dirty rose), Veronica (a blood red), and Sophia (a dark mushroom). The effect topcoat, named Anna, will contain silk fragments to provide depth. Ooh, fancy. Nice, huh? Adding to Wish List right now.
