2011 Spring Paris Fashion Week Beauty Report: Chanel

2011 Spring Paris Fashion Week: Chanel

When your collection yields the power to make the Fash Pack weep, you know you're onto a winner. Monsieur Lagerfeld and Inès de la Fressange (the '80s face of the House) ending their nasty feud provided the perfect symbolism for the collection and beauty look: a modern take on classic glamour. Peter Philips updated the iconic smoky eye, applying slate grey shadow to the entire eye socket. It's definitely a statement look and one that may not work in reality, but be sure to give an amped-up version a whirl. It was teamed with slick, centre-parted roots that ran into a textured ponytail, fastened with a hair clip. Wet-look hair is one of the biggest trends to emerge this season but the Chanel style was unique with a black line running down models' parts. Interesting. Reckon it'll take off? A light pink gloss, some kohl on the lower water-line and slate grey nails completed the beauty look. Try Chanel Le Vernis in Steel ($39). Thoughts?
