Anna Kendrick Oscars 2010: How-To Hair
How-To: Get Anna Kendrick's Oscars Hairstyle
"Anna wanted to look young and modern," stylist Craig Gangi said of the up 'do he created for the Oscar-nominated actress. This undone chignon is as easy to create as it is elegant. Here's how:
First, Gangi prepared Anna's damp hair with Moroccanoil products. After blow-drying, he used a medium-barrel iron to curl hair loosely. Next, he pulled hair back into a deconstructed bun and secured it with pins. Don't worry about getting it perfect. "I wanted her hair to move, like she did it herself," Gangi explained.
Great hair is all about the details, and in this case, Gangi created a small braid for texture. "I took three very small sections before twisting the rest of the hair into a bun," he said. "I twisted each into a braid, then twisted those into one larger braid that went above the bun." As a finishing touch, he misted hair with some shine spray. The end result was an up 'do with a twist—a simple, pretty style that wowed the red carpet.
