HAIR: Jon Pulitano, Redken's Hair Director, created the "wet '80s" look at Flannel. The front of the style, the twisted cowlicks, has a "vampy, masculine feel" to it; Jon said it's designed to look as though a man's combed back his hair, Kenickie-from-Grease style. Again the collection is soft so it's up to the hair to balance the sitch and add in some edge. To create the look, Jon used Guts 10 on dry hair to give it a wet, shiny texture, Redken 23 and then finished with Stand Tough gel on the front and sides to exaggerate the shine.
MAKEUP: MAC's Amber D created fresh faces that had a "sporty feel." It's young but there was structure to the face thanks to some artfully applied sculpting cream. The brows were combed backwards in the other direction in a "late '70s, early '80s" kind of way, which Amber says is going to be huge news. They were then pencilled in lightly and a new peach lipstick called Dressmaker (which launches later this month) was applied. Amber used Cream Colour Base on the cheekbones and right up to the temple. Anywhere that catches the light is where that product should go, so go forth and shimmer away.
