On first inspection of Lance Blanchette's work, you'll see a "slick French twist," but look a little closer and you'll see much more. As Lance says, "it's a '60s feel, not a '60s finish." Combining Nicola's architectural background and love of opposing things, the style was borne. It's a "disciplined vertical French twist" with a crimped top. Lance is using crimping more and more to create volume, instead of backcombing. He says it's better really as you can "run your fingers" through crimped hair, which is near impossible if you backcomb. Joico Brillianting Spray Gloss was used to add shine and that's where Lance thinks hair is headed. Now that the economy is starting to pick up, shine is making a comeback so watch out matte, textured hair . . . your number could be up.
