RAFW 2010: 24K Beauties at Aurelio Costarella

We had a lovely chinwag to MAC's Nicole Thompson about the makeup look that she directed at Aurelio Costarella's Spring/Summer 2010-11 show. Her influence was a "journey from light to dark," and she pulled colours like ochre, gold, pewter and peach from Aurelio's clothes and translated them into the look. The focus was the eye and the gold and silver leaf that extended from the outer eye right out to the hairline. It looked rich, it looked different, but most importantly, as Nicole says, it doesn't look "draggish". Granted, I wouldn't wear it to meet the mother-in-law, but it's not a garish look, it's high fashion. It looked hot. Super hot.
