RAFW 2010: No-Makeup Makeup at Karla Špetić

Don't be fooled into thinking that the "no-makeup" makeup look is easy. Getting these models runway ready for Karla Špetić was no mean feat for Napoleon Perdis. To get the right "mix of fragile sensuality and steely grace," Napoleon prepped the skin with his new Skin Renewal Serum and hero Auto Pilot Primer, before misting on Boudoir Mist Spray Foundation over the models' faces. It set with powder and a white eyeshadow to fit in with the "ethereal beauty" theme. The same white shadow was also used to highlight the brow bone and then a brown mascara was lightly applied to lashes. The lip colour used was NP Set Lipstick in Washington. Who knew looking natural took so long, eh?

ps . . . The nails were my favourite of the week so far. Orly did them and they featured as nude peach base called First Kiss, with lots and lots of tiny white polka dots on them. Adorable. Originally they were going to hand-paint them 'live' backstage—can you imagine—but decided that with 20 models, a trillion stylists and their uncles back there, that airbrushing tips pre-show was a better idea. Totally give it a whirl and let me know how you go. I'm going to.
