According to an Expert Beauty Group, These Are the Best Essence Products
We all know the best beauty recommendations come by word of mouth, and we all have our go-to people that we rely on to tell us what to put on our faces next. But being in the digital age, I'm not going to suggest that all these conversations have to happen IRL. Some of the best recommendations I've had to date have come from beauty pros on the other side of the world, or a conversation that I've stumbled across during a late-night Reddit trawl.
I'd happily argue that the word-of-mouth recommendation is at its most valuable when it comes to drugstore beauty buys. Whether it's because there's nothing better than landing a $10 product that you know is really good, or you've had a bad day and feel like breaking $20 in Priceline just for the fun of it (tell me you guys do that too, right?). Or maybe it's simply because the amount of product in the drugstore has the ability to overwhelm even the most seasoned beauty pro — particularly if it's a "run in while the boyfriend waits in the car" kind of situation.
As much fun as impulsive drugstore purchases can be (did someone say pimple stickers?) you still want to be reassured that even though you're not forking out the big bucks your purchases are still going to do you justice.
So when I was discussing my recent Essence Brow Gel discovery in one of my favourite expert beauty groups, everyone got talking and I discovered there's a whole lot of love for the under-$20 drugstore brand Essence on the interwebs.
Thanks to the advice from the group, I've come to the conclusion that if your house burns down (touch wood), or you find yourself stranded somewhere sans luggage, these are the products you should turn to for pulling a solid makeup kit together quickly, and more importantly, without having to sell a kidney.
