This Is the Wildest, Most Impressive Nail Art You've Ever Seen
If you're unfamiliar with The Blonds, it's high time you got acquainted. Couple and design team Phillipe and David Blond create crystal-covered, sequined confections for pop stars like Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, and Katy Perry. Their influences come from anything and everything, including Barbie, "gangsta genies," and Tweety Bird. This season, the runway show attracted the likes of Paris Hilton, Jay Manuel, and Amanda Lepore in the front row. But what we really love about this particular brand is the fantastical runway nail art provided by the geniuses at CND.
This season, The Blonds wanted to transform the catwalk into Korova Milk Bar from A Clockwork Orange, mannequins included. Using 11 nail artists and around 890 hours (no kidding!), CND translated the design team's dream into reality. Inspired by Tank Girl as well, the manicurists created two sets of nails. First, utopia-themed tips were adorned with beautiful crystals, sequins, and rose-gold accents. Then, the nails shifted into a militant, apocalyptic world with shrapnel nail art, camouflage claws, and fingertips with chains, badges, and even blinking lights. Sound wild? It was. "We're not showcasing wearable nails. We're talking about theatrical nails that are thought-provoking and tell a story," explained CND education manager Roxanne Valinoti. It's clear that The Blonds and CND are a match made in rhinestone-encrusted heaven. Read on to see every incredible nail art look from the show.
