There is no better leading lady than Cate Blanchett to open the 63rd Cannes Film Festival. I'm not being overly biased (OK, I am) but Cate succeeds in bringing Old Hollywood glamour to the table when so many of her peers fail. When pitted against fellow thespians, that luminous skin and golden mane of hers always make her a standout, but how does she fare when it's Day Cate vs. Night Cate? Yesterday she attended a photocall for Robin Hood (right) and opted for a tousled bob, that would've looked shabby on anyone else, yet Cate seems to make it look chic, no? Then, for the opening ceremony dinner in the evening (left), Cate pinned her wispy strands back into a messy chignon at the nape of her neck. Which is your favourite?
