On Wednesday night in Sydney, David Jones unveiled its Autumn Winter 2014 collection. The makeup for the show speaks to this season's no-makeup, makeup trend, with models stripped back to reveal their "inner beauty".
"Overall, the inspiration for both looks is taken from the independent woman, who's radiance and inner beauty shines from within," says Laura Mercier's makeup director for the show, Oralie Maylin.
The skin is fresh, natural and glowing — yes, the kind we all wish we could have without the help of makeup — and Oralie says it's both strong and soft to look at. There's a few products you're going to want to try to get this radiant beauty look at home. After all, who doesn't want to look happy and youthful?
Oralie used one of our absolute favourite's — Radiance Primer — to create that luminous, almost sparkling skin look. She then kept the coverage minimal with Oil Free Tinted Moisturizer, and corrected with makeup artists' favourite, Secret Camouflage concealer. To keep your glow in place finish, like Oralie did, with a setting powder on the t-zone. She used Invisible Loose Setting Powder.
"Laura Mercier is all about enhancing natural beauty, not hiding it" says Oralie. "Inspired by Australian designers, these looks celebrate women, celebrate beauty . . . allowing you to reinvent yourself and celebrate all that you are."
