Derek Lam Fall 2010 Runway Show
2010 Fall New York Fashion Week: Derek Lam
I for one was so excited to hear about Estée Lauder making its Fashion Week debut for Derek Lam, and I bet the models were too when head honcho (aka Creative Makeup Director Estée Lauder) Tom Pecheux worked Advanced Night Repair ("the caviar," he called it) and Re-Nutriv Ultimate Youth Cream into their skin. "Massaging gets the circulation going, and it's special for the models. Sometimes they're tired and stressed, but you give a few minutes' massage, and everything is gone," he says. So thoughtful. Almost makes me long for a career change.
Keep reading for the makeup how-to . . .After prepping the skin, Pecheux applied Double-Wear Light foundation with his fingertips; leaving the rest of the skin bare: no blush, no contouring. The strong eyes used bronze, deep teal and navy shadows (which will be part of Estée Lauder's Fall makeup collection) right up to the brow bone. Double Wear Stay-in-Place Eye Pencil in Midnight Blue was used to define eyes, while a light dusting of the bronze shadow along the lower lash line helped brighten the look. Finally on the lips, he applied Pure Color Crystal Lipstick in Crystal Beige, adding just a dab of the bronze shadow for jazz. What do you think of it all?
