We Need to Discuss the Hair and Makeup at This Kylie Jenner-Approved Show
Di$count Univer$e is up there with Romance Was Born in the creativity stakes. OK, so you might not be copying their exact looks to go back with your outfit tomorrow, but this is more about inspirational and aspirational beauty and fashion.
MAC Cosmetics' makeup director Nicole Thompson, told us that people should use this to give them encouragement to experiment with their makeup more. "It should tell people, 'don't be a p*ssy with your makeup' — try it! Try these things, you can always wipe it off! Fashion should be theatrical, fashion should be fun, and you should walk away inspired."
Renya Xydis directed the hair for Wella and she created a long (we're talking floor-grazing) plaited and multi-coloured ponytail for the girls. Again, a bit extreme, she told us girls should go for a high rainbow-coloured ponytail if they want to emulate this look for themselves.
Kylie Jenner loves a bit of Di$count Univer$e, remember that cool bikini with eyes she wore at Coachella? We couldn't help but notice that for this makeup look the lips were super-sized . . . an influence from their famous fan? We like to think so. "We're overdrawing the lips, they're massive, we're going super-size and finishing with Lip Glass," Nicole explained. "They're bold shades, with blurred edges, because they look fuller that way." She explained that's a great trick for when you're overdrawing your lips at home, if you have slightly blurred edges it looks more natural than a crisp line of colour.
The message here is that you can take as much or as little from this look, but have a little fun! Read on take a look at the magical makeup and wonderful hair from Di$count Univer$e that made it's mark on the Fashion Week calendar.
