As part of Dove's global Choose Beautiful Campaign, Dove asked three Swedish women to share their views on beauty. The catch? All three ladies are blind, but what they each had to say was a startling reflection of what all women have experienced — the feeling of not being completely happy with how you look. "For a long period after I became blind, I automatically checked myself in the mirror. As if it was second nature," said Anna Bergholtz, who has been blind for almost 13 years. "And it took a very long time before I stopped doing that." Ida Östlund and Naomi Allbäck both pointed out that they also worried about the way they looked when they were younger, but as they grew older, those insecurities grew less important. "As I'm approaching 40, I pay more attention to all the beautiful people around me," Naomi said.
And while everyone is talking about the Kylie Jenner lip challenge, this moving video gives new meaning for women, and young girls, of what it means to be beautiful from the inside. As one of the ladies said, "When it feels as if I'm in the right place, doing the right things, meaningful things, I automatically feel beautiful," and we couldn't agree more. Watch the emotional video above, and then see other women tackle the question of "Would you describe yourself as beautiful?"
