Looks like good hair runs in the family. The daughter of the late Vidal Sassoon (pictured above, with British fashion icon Mary Quant in 1964) has opened the doors of Eden by Eden Sassoon in West Hollywood, which she and partner Michael Baruch (the man behind Fred Segal Beauty) have dubbed a "finishing studio." The spot offers blow-dries, makeup application, and manicures at a heavily discounted rate. Sassoon claims that a full-service visit will last just over an hour and cost $65.
"We're trying to create a new category in this space," Baruch told WWD. "It's really about your finishing." Some of the top names in the beauty industry are involved in the studio. Stylists from Serge Normant for John Frieda and Warren Tricomi will be picking up weekly shifts at Eden by Eden Sassoon, allowing for a kind of exchange program. Baruch and Sassoon are already planning on a second location in the LA area, but Sassoon's dream is to go international. "I'm following the Sassoon name around the world," she said. "Dad always said, 'Think big.'" We're looking forward to the day the first finishing studio hits Australia!
