The Face Cleanser Jesinta Franklin Uses

The $14 Face Cleanser Jesinta Franklin Can't Live Without

The quintessential girl next door, Jesinta Franklin is the epitome of Australian beauty, and it's so refreshing to learn that her beauty and wellness philosophies align with her outward persona. Whether this down-to-earth and realistic approach to her life, and more specifically her beauty routine, stem from her humble background growing up on the Gold Coast, or if it's just deeper proof that Australian women prefer to keep it real, it's so enjoyable to have a conversation about beauty that's not only relatable but actually attainable. That's why it's almost too perfect that Jestina is the face of Olay — a brand so ingrained in the lives of Australians that most could admit to having a bottle or two somewhere in their bathrooms. Unassuming, practical and to the point, Jesinta shares her realistic approach to skincare and beauty, including her preference for a $14 cleanser.

On why you should apply the high-low mentality to your beauty routine . . .

"I'm all about mixing more affordable products with some luxury items. If I am going to splurge, I like to treat myself to a great lipstick or mascara. I am obsessed with the Dior Addict Lacquer Sticks at the moment, I have them in about five different shades!"

On the $14 cleanser she uses everyday . . .

"My beauty regime is something I stick to consistently but don't want to spend hours on. And I am conscious of what I need to do but have found the perfect way to fit it into my busy lifestyle without it consuming too much of my time. So I'm pretty low-maintenance. I cleanse morning and night with Olay Total Effects Foaming Cleanser, then apply the Olay Total Effects Gentle Day Cream in the morning and the Olay Eyes Ultimate Eye Cream. I also never sleep with my makeup on, and apply a night cream and the Olay Eyes Pro-Retinol Eye Treatment at night — I always use a different cream for day and night!"

On why you should get used to seeing your skin in its natural state . . .

"On my days off I wear mineral makeup. I don't wear liquid foundation in my personal life, just for work! And if I want a little bit of coverage I use a mineral powder. I really believe in letting your skin breathe — you shouldn't wear heavy or thick makeup every day, get used to seeing your skin in its natural state and embrace the imperfections instead of always trying to cover them up."

On why being busy makes her expect more . . .

"Being a busy person, I like things that are simple yet effective to use when it comes to skincare. I don't have time to spend forever in the bathroom getting ready in the morning so I love the fact that the [Olay] products are so easy to use and they are results driven. They do exactly what I need them to. I've noticed such a difference in my skin, I have a lot of people commenting too, particularly makeup artists who get to see my face completely bare — that's a true testament to Olay and the results I've had with the range."

On how she deals with blemishes . . .

"Do not squeeze it! As hard as it is, just let it run its course. You don't want to end up with any scaring from squeezing and sometimes you can spread the bacteria if you touch it. Drink lots of water to help your system flush out any toxins that may be in your body and just let the pimple dry out naturally. Try not to cover it with too much makeup either — they never last more than a couple of days!"

On her secret for glowing skin . . .

"Having a consistent skincare regime is made even better when you are eating for your optimal health. I try to include as many vegetables into my diet as possible throughout the day with lots of greens and colours — think beetroot, purple, cabbage, squash — to get extra nutrients. My skin glows even more when I am eating lots of vegetables."
