- Start by prepping the hair with a shine- and body-enhancing product, such as Frédéric Fekkai Instant Volume Spray ($38).
- Next, using a medium-barrelled curling tong, curl the entire head of hair, focusing the wave a few inches below the root.
- When finished, create a side part, and then part the hair from front to back, leaving layers out to frame the face.
- To finish, section off around six or so pieces from the back. What you do next is up to you. Loosely braid the outer strands (the sections closest to your ears) and pin towards the centre to secure; roll or twist other sections upwards or downwards, allowing some of the curl to pop out. Have fun, get creative and focus on forming a beautiful shape.
