Nearly Here: Givenchy Blooming A/W 2010 Collection
The Givenchy Blooming Autumn/Winter 2010 Collection is a best summed up as a resistance to Winter. Instead of being filled with moody blues, smoky greys and rich mauves, orange is the hero colour. Givenchy's creative director of beauty, Nicolas Degennes, says "The Blooming woman stands firm in her childlike wish to blossom out of season," and that really sums up the collection to a T. It's whimsical, it's hopeful, it's light and altogether there's a prettiness to it that's as delicate as it is strong. The heroes of the collection, Le Prisme Visage Blooming and Le Prisme Blush Blooming have been heavily influenced by Nicolas' discovery of Japanese film-maker and painter, Takagi Masakatsu. Deeply enchanting, I challenge anyone not to fall in love . . .
