I'm Growing Out My Hair but Only So There's More Room For Accessories
I was fully committed to the short hair way of life. Talk to me about chopping off the hair you spent four years growing, I'd happily convince you that a chin-length bob was the way forward . . . Until now that is, until hair accessories changed EVERYTHING.
Ok, I recognise that's a bit dramatic, but I really have become obsessed with them. Take one peek at my saved folder on Instagram and you'll immediately recognise the tell-tale signs of a 27-year-old woman who has got it bad for everything shells, scrunchies, barrettes and bows.
But you see, there's one problem. In this hair-accessory driven fantasy, my hair is long and spacious, capable of high pony's and plaits. It's prime real-estate for en masse accessorising. In short, it's anything other than the measly nape-stump I'm currently sporting.
So, I've decided to grow my hair out again.
And, although this isn't exactly my first foray into hair accessories, having been an early adopter of the Alice band and navigating through a particularly heavy Blair Waldorf phase in 2008, there's something about this new wave of accessories that feels especially joyful. And, if 2019 isn't about sparking joy, then please tell me what it is?
Anyway, talk to you in a year when my hair is long enough to display my entire collection. Until then, keep scrolling for some inspiration and try not to let Instagram convince you into buying at least one.
