Braidphones Are the Best Thing to Come Off the Chanel Runway
Big-name models like Kendall Jenner, Lindsey Wixson, and Cara Delevingne skipped the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in London to walk in a much less revealing catwalk: the Chanel 2014-2015 Métiers d'Art show in Salzburg, Austria. The clothing was exactly what you would expect from an Eastern European party (think: ruffles, stockings, and bows), but the glittery makeup was straight out of our holiday beauty handbook.
The lids were completely covered in black shadow from the Chanel Quadra Eye Shadow Tissé Riviera palette, then lined with an off-white pencil, Stylo Yeux Waterproof in Or Blanc. We already know how to use pale eyeliner shades to brighten and enlarge the eyes, but the artists at the Chanel presentation used the unassuming shade as a foundation for the gilded glitter accent. The remainder of the face was soft and simple: a flush of pink on the cheeks and lips, plus a dash of highlighting powder to illuminate the face.
Sam McKnight styled the hair for the occasion, creating sophisticated half-up, half-down hairstyles adorned with gorgeous hair accessories. There were braided headphones, diamond barrettes, and silk bows. McKnight gave each model carefree curls fit for a young princess using the Babyliss curling iron and Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray. Altogether the look was giving us serious flashbacks to Disney's Anastasia.
