5 Steps to Contour With the Foundation You Already Have
Not all of us have a glam-squad a la Kim Kardashian, so in the perpetual search for a sculpted, glowy complexion, we consult the many Youtube tutorials and/or screenshot whatever gold nuggets of advice she shares via social media.
But much like tracking down the perfect shade of red lipstick, contouring is (still) a bit of a beauty enigma — what one person finds natural and effortless, another will find tricky and too forced. According to makeup artist Katrina Raftery, all you need to keep in mind is one tip. "The most important thing is the light," she says. "The contour of your daytime makeup should be naturally dewy and blended well." And to do so, all you need is three different shades of your current liquid foundation.
"Choose your number one colour liquid foundation that matches your skin tone," Katrina says. "Then, a creamy concealer or foundation that is a shade lighter, [along with] a slightly darker concealer or compact for you to contour."
