How to Create the Latest Hair Trend: The Big Bun
Hair How-To: Rachel Gilbert at RAFW 2010
For her first RAFW show, Rachel Gilbert worked closely with Goldwell hair stylist Sharon Blain to create a style that proves the big bun hair trend is refusing to go away. It’s the halfway point between the regular old bun and the new beehive styles. Here’s how to achieve the same look at home.
STEP 1: Start with damp hair and apply Goldwell Glamour Whip ($20.95), working through from the ends to the roots. Then take a paddle brush and hair dryer with a nozzle and flat blow-dry the hair, directing it towards the crown.

STEP 2: Use Goldwell Diamond Gloss ($20.95) to smooth the hair before pulling it into a ponytail at the crown of your head. Divide the hair into 8 sections and tease, spraying with Goldwell Sprayer ($20.95) as you go.
STEP 3: Grab your straightener and smooth each section, then brush lightly to give a soft, frizzy look to the hair. Crimp it if you want even more texture. Carefully brush the hair in a clockwise direction around the head to form a soft bun.
STEP 4: Secure with bobby pins to hold in place and finish with a spritz of Goldwell Diamond Gloss.
