How to Get Victoria's Secret Waves at Home

6 Reasons You Don't Have Victoria's Secret Angel Hair

Sure their bodies blow us away on the Victoria's Secret runway, but looking at the Angels' hair always seems to leave us feeling, well, a little flat. Never forget that there's hair extensions, experts and time on their side, but there's six other things celebrity hairstylist Anthony Nader and owner of Sydney's iconic Raw Hair salon says you could be doing wrong when it comes to getting those sexy VS waves.

1. Your hair doesn't look like a VS model because you aren't using hold foam

Grab yourself a can of firm hold foam, to give your lacklustre locks results. On damp hair squeeze a good tennis ball size into your palms and then scrunch the foam into the hair from roots to ends.

2. Your hair doesn't look like a VS model because you don't have layers

When you want to get that extra lift you need to have some layers cut into your hair. The hairstyle will last longer and that's also how you also get that "flirty swing" in your hair revealing a more confident and seductive look.

3. Your hair doesn't look like a VS model because you are using a fine teasing comb

Throw away that nasty fine teasing comb for this natural, full-bodied look. Have you ever noticed any of the VS girls on the runway with bunched up beehive of knots on their famous crowns? No! That's because a bristle brush is always used as this gives a far more natural result and is easier to brush out, too.

4. Your hair doesn't look like a VS model because you aren't using hair clip pieces

Or if you are, but they are the wrong shade. Invest in some clip in hair pieces for that extra wow factor and hey, if it's good enough for the VS Angels — it is good enough for you! Pick a shade that matches up to your hair colour with the clips already sewn in. Backcomb the section where you want the fullness and clip in then smooth over. Even your girlfriends will be dying to know your new secret.

5. Your hair doesn't look like a VS model because you are not using tongs properly

Utilise two different sizes, don't just use one size barrel tong as this tends to give a more contrived, consistent curl. Invest in two different sized tongs and switch up the sectioning patterns (go diagonal and horizontal sections) when curling your strands so there is a more natural wave happening rather than one rigid angles. This is a common mistake and understandably so.

6. Your hair doesn't look like a VS model because you are using a weak hairdryer

Go for the full throttle hairdryer with guts for this hairstyle as the more (conditioning) the hairdryer is, the less grunt and staying power the end result will be.
