How To Get Your Nail Polish Dry Faster: Does Cold Water Really Help?

Q) Does Cold Running Water Help Nail Polish Dry Faster?

Peeps, don't judge. But I sometimes go all old skool and run my hands under cold running water to help set my nail polish. I heard a rumour in Year 9 that it works and I've kinda done it ever since. But now that I'm all-grown-up, I feel it's time to separate fact from fiction so I asked Fiona Hay, ORLY RAFW Creative Director (the one who created those pretty polka dots for Karla Špetić) if I was being smart or stupid to listen to Claire Miller.

A) I have done this myself on the past; it does seem to set the polish as it's lower than body temperature. But that was before the invention of fast drying top coats and drops! ORLY has an amazing top coat called Sec'n Dry ($19.95), which penetrates all layers of polish for fast drying time. I also love Orly Flash Dry Drops ($19.95).

Moral of the story: Let the products do the hard work for you. It's cold enough as it is.
