In the Summer months, we all want to nail the fresh-faced, dewy look. What we don't want: people to ask us if it's really hot outside. Think radiant, not shiny. But how do you walk the fine line between the two? With the help of d's Global Creative Colour Director, Jillian Dempsey, that's how . . .
How can we look dewy, but not shiny, this Summer? First of all, make sure that the face, neck, and chest are all even so that they match tonally. Don't just do your face and forget about your neck and your chest, you have to find the one in-between shade. There are products that are made specifically for your T-zone that are mattifiers, and Avon has MagiX Face Perfector ($39.99), which is a great primer for a base. If you're not going to be out in the sun, skip the SPF and use a primer in the areas around the nose, in between your eyebrows, and right above your eyebrows. Prime those areas out first before applying anything else.
So should it be an oil-free or matte foundation? I don’t think it really matters. What matters is getting those areas primed. Also, I would suggest a powder (only in those areas).
