How to Style a Wavy Bob

The Wavy Bob Styling Tricks That Changed My Life

Also Use a Paste or Gel Texturising Product

I got a bob in the hope of having hair that resembled either Lara Worthington's much-sought-after style or Kate Mara's textured cut — before they both got pixie cuts! I wasn't nervous about chopping off about 10-15cm of hair as I've had short hair before, but I've never had it the way I wanted: blunt ends, minimal layers, slightly longer at the front, texture and that effortless flip. (I have dead-straight Asian hair that generally refuses to be anything but dead-straight Asian hair.) Then I went to a hairdresser who really understood my vibe and gave me the best haircut I've had.

Missy Veyret from Stevie English Hair studied the photos in my "Hairspo" folder before giving me the chop, and as a bonus she shared some styling tips that have changed my life. That may seem like an exaggeration, but your hair is a big part of your everyday look, and after months of feeling "blah" about my hair I'm happy with how it looks all the time. Here's my new bob routine, illustrated by some of my favourite bob owners including Lucy Hale, Jennifer Lawrence and Alexa Chung.
